No ill will, but, Steve, please disappear

I don’t wish Steve Brown ill will. I really don’t. He has a family and a real life beyond politics. I am sure he will find something to do to occupy his time. I just pray to God that it isn’t a return to weekly letter writing to this newspaper, and I hope it’s not an attempt to come back into local politics.

We are all so sick of you, Steve. If you want to run for something again, try doing it in Barrow, Alaska. Please have mercy on us and just go away, OK?

Steve, you didn’t lose the election over the naming of the city’s Christmas tree. Please understand that. For once, acknowledge that your overwhelming defeat was a function of what you did and how you did it. End the blame game and look in the mirror. YOU are the reason you lost.

Your defeat wasn’t due to a Frazier fir or a Douglas fir or the “fir” of my dog (all equally plausible excuses in your mind, I am sure.) But Dec. 6 was most certainly a “Grand” day for Peachtree City. Goodbye, Steve Brown.

I don't agree with Dan Tennant often, but I sure do now on Steve Brown. He positively did lose because of his own actions as mayor and "private citizen" and not anything to do with a Christmas tree (and it is a Christmas tree, everybody - get used to it).

Brown going away is expecting a bit much, but maybe he can get some professional help with his meglomania and limit his letter writing as part of the treatment. If that fails maybe Cal can atone for his past sins over the last 5 years of giving Brown all that free press. Now's the time Cal - limit Brown (and his many made-up names) to 1 letter a month. It would make for a better city nd even a better newspaper.
