Was it just me, or was there a very small earthquake in North Eastern Fayette county around 9am today?

Just a possibility 5-0....

I work very close to the airport and hidden between Hwy 85 and I-75 close to Forest Parkway there is granite quarry. It appears that several times a week they set off blasts that literally rock the surrounding area around the quarry. My building shakes unbelievably and you should hear all the metal warehouse doors rattle violently.

Not sure if this is your earthquake but they might be related.

Does anyone remember that one that hit in Tennessee or Alabama about 5 years ago or so? It occurred very early in the morning. I remember stirring in my sleep to my ceiling fan shaking violently. I later woke up thinking it a dream until I heard the morning news talking about the earthquake. That's the only one I ever recall experiencing. Hopefully, that'll be the worst.

Speaking of which does anyone carry earthquake insurance in Georgia or am I the only knucklehead that added it. From what I understand a homeowners policy does not insure for earthquakes. It's an option like flood insurance. Hopefully, the day will come when I wish I had not wasted the money on the extra premiums. Smiling

I've never even thought about it. I hope you never need yours.

I remember the small quake you are talking about, I lived between McDonough and Stockbridge at the time. It rattled a few things for sure.

You're probably right about the rock quarry, they set off some serious blasts sometimes in that place.
