Police release detailed description of gunman Peachtree City police are looking for a man who robbed the Home Town Dollar Plus store at the Wilshire Pavilion just before 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The suspect, a black male, had a grey pupil in his right eye and is believed to live in the surrounding area, police said. The eye feature could be from cataract damage, police said. The suspect was described as a black male in his late 20s, about 5'7"-5'8" tall with a stocky build, between 170 and 180 pounds with dark complexion and short hair, police said. He was wearing a black T-shirt with a pocket on the front, long black denim baggy pants and black shoes, police said. The suspect wore gloves but no mask, said Peachtree City Police Chief James Murray. “There should be no problem identifying him,” Murray said Thursday night, adding that police hope to have him in custody in the next day or two. The gunman entered the store and went behind the counter area, pointing a handgun at the clerk, Murray said. The gunman took cash and left through the store’s rear door, getting away on foot, Murray added. Murray said deputies from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department were quick to respond to the area to help in the search for the suspect, along with Hawk 1, the sheriff’s department’s helicopter. “It was very good to have that in the air so quickly to assist in the ground search,” Murray said. login to post comments |
