The Peachtree City Police Department is looking for persons 18 and over who are interested in learning how to help themselves and the community after an emergency event.

The department is hosting a 10-week Community Emergency Response Team class starting Thursday, Sept. 6, with courses for 10 straight weeks from 6:30-9 p.m.

The program will offer valuable insight into the first few critical hours following an emergency-related event and how individuals can become empowered to better prepare to sustain themselves and their families.

The class is limited to the first 26 approved applicants, who must be at least 18 and a resident of Georgia. Each applicant will be subject to a criminal history background check and also must sign a waiver of liability form.

Applications and more information are available online at www.peachtree-city.org/index.asp?NID=453.
