SWMBO - McNally II

Git Real's picture

SWMBO,

Here is a sampling of incidents that our former county attorney was involved in. Some might appear petty and some appear very significant. The point being that McNally either overstepped the duties he was hired to perform and/or conducted him self unprofessionally over the years. I’m not saying that Bill never did any good for the county but what I will say is that Bill over stayed his welcome. Bill was simply arrogant and controlling in regards to how he dealt with the county employees and the citizens who paid his salary. Too many times he called the shots rather than letting the commissioners and the county staff performs the tasks they were either hired for or elected to do. Well….here is a few examples of McNally abusing his position. I’m sure this will spawn more discussion on this subject. Sorry if some of this may appear sloppy as I had a lot of work to do on my home work assignment. I’ll try to clean it up a bit after I post it.

Here is a Citizen Online Reader’s Letter To The Editor Which Explains And Details In An Eloquent Manner That The Only Person For 20 Years Pushing The Marshalls / County Police Was The Incumbent 6th Commissioner Bill McNally.

DO NOT FORGET that he was trying to deprive the Fayette Voters of a referendum on this issue.

Fayette County commissioners were caught red-handed, but not by an investigative reporter or federal agent: they caught themselves.
"We all agreed let's just 'fess up. We blew it," Commissioner Greg Dunn said this week after issuing a press release admitting that the County Commission improperly discussed public business during a closed meeting last week.
"It was really stupid," Dunn said.

Bonus… Look up this link your self.
Fayette County Attorney Bill McNally’s defense of a secret land swap sounded a lot like Bruce Jordan defending the private use of deputies and equipment (“County attorney defends secret land deal vote” Citizen 02/13/2007). “There’s nothing sinister going on here,” McNally said. “There’s no smoking gun here,” he added. Boy, that sounds just like Bruce Jordan when the Sheriff got an audit done and Bruce said, “You didn’t catch me doing anything ... My conscience is clear on this.”

Commission Chairman McNally Takes Charge Again

Following you will find a classic example of King Pin McNally running the county. Why is McNally giving technical advice on towers, running water projects and being an administrator??? Are we paying him $200 an hour to do the work our elected officials should be doing?

County Manager Micro-Manages County Business Details

Wait!!! Is this what we pay our attorney $200 an hour to do? Perhaps this isn’t such a bad deal if we are able to eliminate entire departments and allow McNally’s firm to run the county while eliminating county employees.

County attorney Bill McNally said the 11 contracts totaled just over $971,000 and covered everything from audiovisual equipment to furniture.

McNally Has A Career As An Open Meetings Violator

Remember this fiasco? Bill McNally in my mind contributed heavily to the demise of Greg Wells and Linda Dunn. Didn’t they pay him $200 per hour to supposedly help keep them out of trouble?

Open Meeting Law Inapplicable, Says County Attorney
By JOHN THOMPSON
jthompson@thecitizennews.com
Fayette County’s top commissioner and attorney are both denying the county committed any Open Meetings violations during their recent spats with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
Questions have arisen over a series of letters written between the county commission and the sheriff’s department. The most recent letter from the commission was dated April 29 and instructed the sheriff to remove a storage shed near Johnson Avenue and Jimmie Mayfield Avenue by June 1.
The letter was signed by all members of the commission, although it was never discussed nor voted upon in an open meeting.
“This was not illegal. Our attorney (Bill McNally) was present during all these discussions, and said it was legal,” Commission Chairman Greg Dunn said.
McNally also said he had no problem with the issue.
“This falls under the possible litigation clause in the act,” McNally said before Thursday’s commission meeting.

King Pin McNally Hassles Property Owners By Sending Himself and/or Other Lawyers To The Peasants Door Steps While Charging By The Hour In Order To Take Their Property (Condemnations) Away From Them.

This is John Munford’s story on how his family members were harassed by King Pin & Company while personally acting as the County Zoning Administrator, Marshall, and Attorney. All this for only $200 bucks per hour.

This one kind of reminds me of the Gestapo coming to your door and paying a personal visit.

As a reporter, I’ve heard county officials complain before about our “sensational headlines” and Cal’s various opinions. This confrontation with Mr. Goza sounded an awful lot like several such “talking-tos” I’ve gotten over the years from certain county officials, including Goza’s boss, county attorney Bill McNally.

McNally Will Always Dole Out Money For His Sleazy Buddies Even When They Move On To Higher Office

Why is that? Puzzled

Gee…. Isn’t there a front page news story on the re-call efforts taking place in Union City for ole McNally’s buddy Ralph Moore? Wuz up with that?

Mayor Ralph Moore reported contributions exceeding $101 at $11,650. Contributing to Moore’s re-election campaign was an impressive list of area attorneys, developers and others. According to his campaign disclosure reports Moore received $1,000 from Union City attorney Dennis Davenport and $1,000 from Bill McNally, also a partner with McNally, Fox & Davenport.

Come on already. You said you were going to set me straight on all this. Didn't you? Puzzled

Submitted by CI5835 on Wed, 07/25/2007 - 4:42pm.

doesn't he? Is it because he may fear McNally running for DA and is getting a jump start on his smear campaign? McNally is a true gentleman and a man of great character and conviction. He has always acted in the best interest of the county. Rememeber, when the Marshall's Office was created they were armed with FLASHLIGHTS! Due to possible liability issues that were involved in this (failure to provide reasonable public safety) the commission created a "police force" before the state law went into effect requiring a referendum to do so. This all happenned because the sheriff and his "boys" thought that providing security on county property was below them. Why don't we fix the problem by having the sheriff perform those duties a sheriff has traditional perfromed, i.e. running the jail and providing security at the courthouse and transition our Marshall's Office into what it should be and call them by the correct name...the Fayette County Police Department.

I guess TimmyTim is about to be downsized. That's the best you can respond with to Git's blog. Way lame. This is one biggest pieces of crap to ever be posted.

TimmyTim is worried about losing his job. He says : "McNally is a true gentleman and a man of great character and conviction. He has always acted in the best interest of the county."

Nothing could be further from the truth. He is a carpetbagging, New Yorker from an unapproved law school that has been an arrogant and rough handed dealer every chance he got. And then he hires the arrogant, prepubscent Denny and installs him as Chamber President. Nobody knows what he makes and he attacks the cities like they are infidels.

Acid test--- if you care about Fayette County you step aside and you do not hinder Randall Johnson. He fails miserably on that one. I frankly didn't care about the legal bills but I do care about his constant messing with the Sheriff's Department. Happy Trails; Show yourself to the door, please.

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Thu, 07/26/2007 - 7:39am.

Only way to stop "messing" with the sheriff's department is to change their responsibility to cour house only, and have a county police force run by professionals!

Is it because he may fear McNally running for DA and is getting a jump start on his smear campaign?

Uh...I Got No Fear Dude! McNally is a businessman along with being a decent attorney. Why in the heck would he pay money to get elected as our DA? From where he's at that would be like paying lots of money to have your butt whooped. Do you really think McNally desires a severe pay cut?

McNally is a true gentleman and a man of great character and conviction. He has always acted in the best interest of the county

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah..... I guess if wasn't able to limitlessly bill the public coffers he'd perform the work for gratis.

He has always acted in the best interest of the county

Yup..... He keeps on giving, and giving, and giving. What a sacrificial lamb Bill has been. Smiling

Due to possible liability issues that were involved in this (failure to provide reasonable public safety) the commission created a "police force" BEFORE THE STATE LAW WENT INTO EFFECT REQUIRING A REFERENDUM TO DO SO.

Little Timmy.... Did you by chance listen to yourself? You're commending Bill McNally for overstepping his bounds and eliminating the opportunity for the Citizens / Taxpayers of Fayette County to be able to decide for themselves as to whether they desired to fund another duplication of services by denying their rights to vote on this referendum. Shame on you. You're starting to sound like Hillary now.

Why don't we fix the problem by blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah... transition our Marshall's Office into what it should be.

I agree. Let's fix the problem. Let's place the Marshall's office under the supervision of the Sheriff's Office. It can be it's own separate division. We'll use it for code enforcement, pulling up illegal signs, park patrols, and basic security at commission meetings and such. We can give them their own uniforms that distinguish them as county security officers under the direction of our elected professional Sheriff Randall Johnson.

This department will also give Sheriff Johnson a place to demote deputies who may need disciplinary action. It could also be used as a place to reassign overweight or out-of-shape deputies while giving them a chance to get back into physical shape. If not???? Well, they can remain in the Fayette County Security Detail where they will fit right in.Smiling

Now Wittle Timmy of 2 Weeks. Do us all a favor. Please make a minimal effort to correct your spelling, sentence structure, and capitalization. No one here is looking for perfection. What we do respect and require is an honest effort. Eye-wink

Git Real said all that had to be said EXCEPT the part about the very bad timing. I heard that McNally's law partner is the chairman of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce this year.

This was supposed to be the year they ruled over Fayette County entirely. Well the best worked plans of mice and men ...
