Prayer to St. Jude (cousin of Our Blessed Lord)

Christian's picture

"O most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, people honor and invoke you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, for I am so helpless and alone. Please help to bring me visible and speedy assistance. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly (state your request) and that I may praise God with you always."

"I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you by publishing this request. Amen."

Ain't this St. Jude the same as Judas the traitor?
Excuse my ignorance of religious matters, I used to be a Romanian orthodox.....

Dragnet, can't you change your picture? You look dead!
Romanian Orthodoxes is a branch of Gypsy Ramblers, isn't it?
Or is it the non-orthodox Travelers?
I am familiar with the Lutheran-Greek-Patriarchy religion, which is an off-shoot of Calvin (don't know his last name) theoistics. I think.
The Buddhist-Hindi-Confucius zealots were revised by the Beatles in the sixties, I think, but are still poplar in Xanadu.
Most poplar of today are the African-Episcopal-Zulu manure spreaders. They will scare you silly.
The Indonesian-Muslimistic-terrorists are gaining members daily.
None of these people like our new world of technology, and money trading. They intend to blow it up.
Don't confuse your religion, get a good snake handling, Bible thumping, antique Holy Roller, witch doctor and stick with her.

Why don't you pray directly to God himself? Jude was a good man and sinner like the rest of us. He died a forgiven man like we should. He can't save you? If Jesus bridged the gap between man and God then why pray to another man? But then again what do I know.... Your Pope claims I'm not in the real church.

Try praying in the name of Jesus instead of good ole Jude. He's the one that made it happen for all of us who are willing to trust Him.

Git--- our prayers are not to the Saints but with the Saints. We pray to God; We invoke the Saints for intercession. They pray with us and for us.

No where in the bible did I ever read that one needed anyone or anything to interceed for me other than Christ. Hmmm.... But I do recall many times recalling that Jesus Christ is the one and only intercessor. Why add to it? Is he not enough? He claimed he is the the "only" way. Is he not who he claimed to be?

Well.... you guys go on praying to a bunch of guys who are in heaven having the time of their eternity and I'll pray to the One who paved the path and paid my penalties. Smiling

Some of us need all the help we can get.
Anyway, the mystery is deepened with every addition of skullduggery.

Fear and loathing dominates the Roman Catholics. Mystery and skulduggery entice the ignorant!
Praying to "Saints" (made by man) is, I think, asking for help with God, through these "Saints."
It is all in your mind.
If a person can voice their needs exactly as told to do so, then all will be well. If not then you didn't do it right or you are in Purgatory.
They are a lot like the Masons. Secrecy, mystery, money, happiness, money, pent up Fathers (poor Fathers), (who aren't really Fathers, I hope).
Going back to Latin now. Nobody needs to know what anyone else says.
If you go through the motions and put yourself in their hands you will be forgiven by the Virgin, the Saints, the Pope, the Cardinal, the Bishop, the Father, and ultimately Jesus and God.
Meanwhile go about your drinking carousing, cheating, stomping, and cussing, asking for forgiveness every day.
Don't mean to be critical, but I can't help it.
My mind knows when I am BSing and when not!
