For more than two hours Monday night, the Peachtree City Council, along with the city's Planning Commission and Development Authority discussed the future of the Lexington Circle development on Ga. Highway 54.
The consensus was to offer more mixed-use residential units at the development and make sure a unifying architectural element was present in all future building. Residents complained the existing townhomes looked like "army barracks" and wanted the area cleaned up so it doesn't look like a landfill

The Church, or to put it better, the location of the Church and local "blue laws" are hurting the marketability of this property for a mixed-use development. I've never understood the problem having a place that serves alcohol being a certain distance away from a Church etc. It's not like the signage in PTC is that invasive. Is our Government worried about the temptation to the members of the Church? It seems the Church would welcome it, as they could help the so called "sinners". I realize it's a deep rooted "Southern" thing, but times change. Now keep in mind, I'm a born and bred Souterner.

Fact is, until these issues are addressed, you will not find suitable restaurant tenant for a mixed use development that cannot serve alcohol, or at the very least, you will greatly limit your scope of available tenants.
