A Fairburn man died of multiple gunshot wounds in the early morning hours June 30 near the Union City residence of his former girlfriend. Twenty-three year-old Dontarious Shackleford was reportedly throwing items at the woman’s house when eight males exited the residence, chased and beat him before two of the males fired several shots into his upper body, said Union City Police spokesman Sgt. George Louth.

Louth said the deadly incident began when Shackleford arrived at the home of his former 18 year-old girlfriend on Cotter Drive at approximately 3 a.m. The two had broken up several months earlier and there had been reports of minor harrassment toward the woman, said Louth.

On June 30, Shackleford reportedly arrived and began throwing items at the house, Louth said. It was then that eight males, all reportedly relatives or friends, exited the home and began chasing Shackleford.

The chase ended in the rear of a nearby residence, where the males beat Shackleford and where Antwine and Norman shot him several times with handguns, Louth said. The wounds to the upper body were fatal and Shackleford died at the scene, said Louth. Union City Police are awaiting ballistics reports on one of the handguns that was recovered.

Vandalize other people's property. It's just not smart.....and in the south you could get killed. Gotta love karma.

Don't throw 'items' at people's houses. Especially at 3am.

If WWII had been covered by the Modern Media: Great Video
