A Fayetteville woman was arrested Saturday for attacking her husband with a knife during an argument, police said. Lori Jeanne Grant, 33, of 185 Lakeland Circle, was arrested for aggravated assault and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree, police said. The latter two charges were placed because two children witnessed the assault, police said. The dispute began just after noon when Grant came home late and got into an argument with her husband, Ronald Grant, police said. Mr. Grant handed her the baby, and then she went downstairs, handed the baby to the oldest son of the family, and she grabbed a large kitchen knife, police said. When Lori Grant went back upstairs, she then took several swipes at Ronald Grant with the knife, and the husband was able to take the knife from her after a struggle, police said. Ronald Grant then asked one of the children to bring him a phone, and he took the phone and a knife and locked himself in a closet in the master bedroom, police said. Ronald Grant was cut on the finger during the scuffle, police said. A $9,000 bond was set on Lori Grant by Fayette County Magistrate James A. White, and the bond restricts her from having contact with her husband. Police noted that Lori Grant initially gave several different versions of what happened before admitting that she attacked her husband with the knife. login to post comments |
