Gallopade International is pleased to announce that Carole Marsh was recently named Georgia Author of the Year, for Children’s Books by the Georgia Writer’s Association. Marsh, a native Georgian, was awarded the title at a formal banquet held at Kennesaw State University. She was especially recognized for her many educational children’s mystery books which feature real locales as settings and often, real children as characters. “The Ghosts of Pickpocket Plantation,” from her Pretty Darn Scary mystery series received special recognition. Former GAYA honorees include prolific poets, a former President, university professors, and an award-winning screenwriter. Labeled “the new real-life Nancy Drew,” Marsh’s series have garnered numerous awards over the past few years for her Carole Marsh Mysteries. Previously, Marsh was named Communicator of the Year, received an Excellence in Education award and was honored for Best Family Books by Learning Magazine. Recently Midwest Book Review referred to her mysteries for children ages 7-14 as “true gems of education and entertainment for young readers.” Marsh’s mysteries feature built-in book clubs, SAT words and are all on Accelerated Reader.
