Gallopade International is pleased to announce that Carole Marsh was recently named Georgia Author of the Year, for Children’s Books by the Georgia Writer’s Association.

Marsh, a native Georgian, was awarded the title at a formal banquet held at Kennesaw State University. She was especially recognized for her many educational children’s mystery books which feature real locales as settings and often, real children as characters. “The Ghosts of Pickpocket Plantation,” from her Pretty Darn Scary mystery series received special recognition. Former GAYA honorees include prolific poets, a former President, university professors, and an award-winning screenwriter.

Labeled “the new real-life Nancy Drew,” Marsh’s series have garnered numerous awards over the past few years for her Carole Marsh Mysteries. Previously, Marsh was named Communicator of the Year, received an Excellence in Education award and was honored for Best Family Books by Learning Magazine. Recently Midwest Book Review referred to her mysteries for children ages 7-14 as “true gems of education and entertainment for young readers.”

Marsh’s mysteries feature built-in book clubs, SAT words and are all on Accelerated Reader.

Can someone clarify this article for me? Doesn't this lady (Marsh) own Gallopade? Did she award herself this honor? Did she rent a room at Kennesaw, or what?
This sounds a lot like the other local lady in PTC who is an "artistic director" and gets scores of free publicity about her local "shows" and teaching.
Sounds almost like professional rasslin.

Yes, she owns Gallaopade and yes she was awarded Georgia Author of the Year. Stick to blogging about "rasslin".

Carole may be a great author BUT she treats her employees at Gallopade like slaves, milks the company of its funds and cheats the taxpayers every month. Not a very good example of a role model and a representative of our state.

aren't totally on the up and up either. Unsuspecting dealers or customers would call in, a book fair or similar presentation of products led people to believe they were receiving free materials. Surprize, they ain't free, there is a charge. That's just one example of selling techniques.

I registered for Mixer's Superior Semantics award, and it is everything he said it was, and much more.
Head on! Head on! Head on! Head on! I hate his commercial, and Gallopades', but the works are superior!
Now, all of you who have prestigious awards such as WWE, WWW, WWO, WWF, WWR and "beanie awards," just advertise here and in the Citizen to sell your "stuff."
I'm selling spaces with blankets on them for the 4th fireworks. Leave $25 under a big rock near the dam, I'll find it, and I'll put that same rock where you can find it. no need to take what space is available when you come to the foreworks.
