Agents nab three men in drug bust

It is always nice to have a little disposable income on hand. But for three Morrow men, their plan to spend $25,000 at the Fayette Pavilion Thursday night to buy a kilogram of powdered cocaine and turn it into crack cocaine just did not pan out.

The men were arrested in a drug reverse near Ruby Tuesday’s after their attempt to purchase the kilo. The men had originally wanted five kilograms, said Fayette Sheriff’s Drug Task Force Capt. Mike Pruitt, but brought only enough money for a single kilogram.

Pruitt said the men told undercover agents they wanted to cook the cocaine into crack to determine its quality before purchasing the remaining four kilos.

Agents finished their work on the east side of Ga. Highway 85 in time to bust a man and woman from Jonesboro in the Wal-mart parking lot when they attempted to sell a quantity of the stimulate Ecstasy and a small amount of marijuana to undercover agents.

It's good to know the community is being protected by such fine law enforcement, even when I'm out of town. Smiling I hope you keep up the great work. Maybe Fayetteville officers should be teaching at the police academy so other jurisdictions can learn how it's done.

What happened to the good ole days. They are gone, my friends. I just realized that tonight when I took a trip to Newnan to see a movie. There is a newer theater over there just off of the Newnan Bypass. A good friend had told me about it and I just want to pass the word along to you after I tried it out.
Let me tell you, I haven't had such an enjoyable movie going experience since eight to ten years ago when the Tinseltown first opened. The Newnan theater was clean, ran professionally and the customers were polite and respectful. Those were the days...
My thought is simple and obvious. If we don't do something soon, this county will be dead. What do I mean by a dead county, well, just look at the mall in Union City or drive through Clayton County. We HAVE to start taking care of our shopping areas and make it a safe enviorment to do business again.
So when I hear about all these crackheads and dope dealers coming down to Fayette to buy and sell drugs, I am not surprised. And neither should you be. They feel comfortable doing it here. They have been for awhile now. So keep up the good work Fayette County Sheriff's Department. And thank you Fayetteville Police Department, for jumping on board and combating a problem that the Peachtree City Police Department continues to ignore. If they really wanted to address this issue, they would have an officer assigned to the Drug Task Force also.
The crime in this county is like an infected sore. Pretending its not that bad and praying it will go away, only proves that new leadership is needed over there in "golf-cart city". You thoughts anyone?

I agree with you. I miss the "good old days."
Now that Fayetteville has a new Police Chief, the Fayetteville Police Dept. is doing a great job. The Sheriff's Dept. always does a great job. Thanks to all of them, they risk their lives for us everyday.

Fayetteville residents should vote out the "good old boys." They have allowed the builders to take over, and forgot about the long time residents.

My hope is someone in Fayetteville will step up to the plate, and run for office there. The Mayor and a couple of council members are up for election this year.

Rukiddin: I must agree with you. It is a really sad and I know that things must progress and grow (which Fayette Co. has done) but when alot of the shopping complexes that are here in the city (i.e. Walmart - Fayette Pavillion) border close to Clayton Co. lines and Fulton Co. (north 138 area)alot of undesireables come from those areas, not only bringing trouble into the area but alot of these types are looking for jobs, eating out, shopping, and going to movies. Not having same values we were raise with some don't have respect for property, family or just plain common courtesy. I know this is probablly sounding racist but I'm talking about all races whites, blacks, hispanic, and others. So don't start sending me hate mail.

I have several family members who have lived here forever and friends who have recently up and moved to Pike Co. and even futher South and upon asking them why would you want to do this, everyone of them have given me the same answer repeatly. It's all moving South and its just a matter of time before Fayette Co. is just like Clayton Co. and I sadly find myself beginning to agree with them.

So I do agree we must keep crime out of Fayette Co. and that the County and City Law Enforcement Agencies are doing a great job. But alot of it has to do with the residents of other counties coming in with a "who gives a crap attitude" also, parents really need to start taking a hands on with kids and teach them respect for property and others to make all cities and counties a wonderful place to live.

Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now.

What does everyone think about Senate Bill 10? You can read a copy of the letter that was mailed to all parents of special ed kids. It's posted on the FCBOE website (under exceptional children). Apparently, parents have three new options: a voucher for private school, go to any school in the system (that has the needed program) and, get this, go to any school in ANY system. I'm curious as to what special ed parents and regular ed parents think about this. Particularly parents of SST kids. By the way, I understand (but have not verified) that the permission to attend other schools is based on numbers, not overall numbers, but the number of files that each special ed teacher is accountable for. Basically, this implies that a school can be over the max, but still take in more special ed students. I'm curious as to how parents think this is going to effect their child's education.

PTC lost a good detective who was involved in the drug task force. He was also the only one who would answer the phone over there when citizens called in with concerns. I've heard he is head of security for a large company now.
They should be having drug stings daily on the cart paths. Concern about the cart path problems (or lack of concern) comes from the top down. Right now they are too busy holding up the walls of the sinking police station, and prancing in front of TV cameras.

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Sun, 06/24/2007 - 2:42pm.

I didn't know PTC had a detective squad. Other than the Internet lady.
I have explained the cart paths before, but I will again:
We have added numbers of policemen several times over the past years--some for cart paths--however something always comes up where the extras are always needed elsewhere!
I have a feeling that is going to re-occur forever.
I think maybe the answer lies in shutting down the cart paths--that would make them happy and put crime into the neighborhoods where it belongs.

I hope bail for these scum bags is set at the highest amount possible by the law!! PERIOD!!! Any amount lower than the maximum will be a disservice to the citizens of Fayette County and the judges who set the amount are here to serve, correct? This BS of no prior record and what ever else they can come up with to lower the bail has got to stop or Fayette County will become Clayton County's twin sister. Fayette County has got to develop the reputation amoung the druggies as Fayette is the toughest on drugs!! Our agents and law enforcement are doing a wonderful job and I thank them all!!! I just want to make sure our legal system works just as hard not to give them a legal loop hole.

Once again, post on all signs coming into our wonderful county, "Robbers, muggers, drug dealers, shoplifters will be shot on sight, we will not waste our tax payer money on you. much cheaper to bury than prosecute"

I have a simple question or two which will clear up some arguments on here about drug agents.
Who were the undercover agents Mr. Pruitt said the dope buyers wanted to buy a kilo from? Fayette deputies, or others?
Who are "agents finished their work on the east side, etc?" Fayette deputies, or others?
Also, as I understand it the cops are " supposedly selling" the dope, and the perps are buying it in large quantities. This question is: who is the "selling agent?" Fayette deputies, or others?
And lastly: where did the info come from about these guys coming to Fayette County to buy dope?

wouldn't you really LOVE to see the undercover agents names exposed here! Also to hash it out if there was entrapment? I am glad someone is trying to keep our kids safe... for 2 reasons...1st..if a kid is hooked on drugs, the family spends big bucks, about $30,000. a month after the insurance pays the 1st time, for the kid to go BACK into rehab, it takes several times, and not a sure thing the kid will EVER come off drugs. Reason? The craving that comes from cocaine is in the same part of the brain and has the same feeling as sex..only better than sex ever before. What is the kid left with? no sex life,ho ho, but really, no job, family, etc, only an addiction.
The drug dealer is left with a sh..t pot full of money...to buy more bling and a good lawyer...
The 2nd reason I am glad the narcs are out there is this one, I come from somewhere else in the US where they don't wait for the law to do justice. I am GLAD they do their job here n keep me from going to jail for a crime worth committing. Want to hear what we do with drug dealers when no one is lookinging? What ..NICE..demure...people back home do? A woman who was big in the Church n taught Sunday School was giving a party. My brother went n her daughter came in all strung out. The woman had already got her kid in 1st on her insurance, 2nd time it cost the family $30,000.00.. This was their only child...She left her party, my brother and wife in tow, found the dealer, as it is a small town, already knew who he was and told him what would happen to him if he sold her child more drugs. She found him sitting in his new Mercedes. Before anyone knew what was happening, she reminded him of their past talk, threw gasoline on his car,.. AND LIT A MATCH! He jumped out just in time...too bad..! He called her a bitch n got in her face like punks do, and she got in his, as his car was burning...and told him the police would be ther soon and that she DARED him to tell them what he had done and why she torched his car! She also told him that if she ever saw him in town again, someone? would kill him! You know what? He never told the police what happened to his car and if left town, cause most people back home are related, and I guess he figured, sooner or later, someone would make good on her wishes, or just do it anyway cause they don't like drug dealers. Yall might want to try some of that here, it may not be 'legal' but no court is going to do anything with you, and you will have a whole lot less drug dealers, don't look for the police to protect you...help them! Stand up for yourself!

The article clearly states that the "Fayette County Sheriff’s Drug Task Force" which means Fayette County Deputies. Do you not understand that FAYETTE COUNTY DEPUTIES who have been sworn in by the Fayette County Sheriff Randall Johnson. The Seller- would be the undercover Sheriff's Deputies working in the Fayette County Sheriff's Drug Task Force. And again, all agencies weather it be local, state, or Federal work together therefore once the criminals cross over county lines the county they are coming into maybe informed, surely you are not that nieve. If you have such a problem with the Sheriff's Office I'm sure that Sheriff Johnson and The Drug Task Force would welcome any questions you would have regarding the Department you should call a requested to meet with the Commanding Officer within the Task Force one day, and maybe they would be able to answer alot of thier questions and help you to understand things more clearly. Or even better yet meet with the Sheriff and discuss your concerns with him for clarification. These men and women take their jobs very seriously and have to because of the type of people they must deal with on a daily basis, these people they deal with are not joking around (as you seem to do alot with regards to this department). If you were given the experience to work with them for (1) day I would not be afraid to bet $100 you would NOT last (1) hour, it would be to much for you to handle. It is really sad that you live here in the County (I assume) where you are very well protected and is a good place to live however, you feel the need to continually and constantly make critial, hateful, judgemental comments regarding our Law Enforcement in Fayette County when it is obvious you don't have good knowledge or understanding of the system or your community as far as that goes. If you don't like it here move to Clayton County, you'd really love it there.

Oh, and by the way since you felt the need to edit the H--- out of my article the other day about the "Assistant Princ." at WHS. This and many of your other little writings make no sense what so ever, you ask very unclear and nonimpressive questions. You have many many type-o's and many mispellings, so as you suggested to me use your spell check. You do not intimidate me at all, you just enjoy getting the last word in and bickering until your blue in the face. You must be a really lonely person or like another users suggests you work for the paper and you are just permitted to tick people off. You don't need to be boycotted by everyone, my thought is if you reply with a stupid response to anyone's post or comment they should respond back with their upmost knowledge and integrity on the matter and then leave it at that, you must be a really lonely and sad person $. But really the answer is Fayette County DEPUTIES is all right there in front of you just read it. Or maybe just keep your thoughts to your self.
