Reid, Kerry out of touch with U.S. peopleWed, 12/07/2005 - 9:17am

In a Democratic response to President Bush’s speech at the Naval Academy, [Senate Minority Leader Harry]Reid said that the American people want to learn of the successes in Iraq. But America knows that the limousine liberals of the East Coast know nothing of what the real American public wants and therefore have no right to state that they do. Also, in making that statement, Reid failed to mention that the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party, the mainstream media, has done its utmost to mislead the public into believing that there’s nothing positive being accomplished in Iraq. In his response, Sen. John Kerry (who was in Vietnam) said that “every troop” he met with in Iraq thanked him for standing up for them and that he’s always fighting for them. I guess he meant that now he’s fighting for the troops after fighting against them. I believe that public opinion has caused him to tone down his blame-America-first rhetoric and now knows that he can’t undermine our country’s efforts to fight the terrorists and succeed in Iraq like he undermined our efforts to win the Vietnam War. As North Vietnamese General Giap wrote in 1985, “Hanoi would have surrendered to the U.S. if it weren’t for organizations like Kerry’s Vietnam Veterans Against the War.” I have faith that America won’t let that happen again.
