Shane's Rib Shack now open in PTC

Shane’s Rib Shack got its start three years ago in a tin-roofed rib shack operating in a rural McDonough and is now open at 1261 N. Peachtree Parkway.
The Peachtree City shack is the youngest in the family and shares the same menu with the original in McDonough. In fact, this one is a near replica…only it has air-conditioning and indoor bathrooms, and the one in McDonough has neither.
“I’m proud to introduce Shane’s to the area,” says David Floyd, local owner of the Peachtree City shack. “Shane’s is a family place that offers darn good food at a reasonable price – like an out-of-this-world BBQ chopped pork sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. And it’s the right spot to gather with family and neighbors – whether it’s for a PTA meeting, after baseball practice or just because you want to catch up with your cousin Stacey.”
Operating hours are 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Monday – Saturday; and 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Sunday. The store phone number is 678-364-9700.

Is this in the Kedron shopping center?

Head to Cafe Pig on Huddleston. Great vegatable sides too.

The original Shanes had it right, these new stores are a mere shadow of the original. I don't even think they use real wood at these places.

Joker
You must be new to PTC.
The variety here now far exceeds what we had even 5 years ago.
What do you want?
If we do not support our local eating establishments they will fail or leave.
Losing Valentinos was a major blow to those of us that enjoy great food and with the loss of Macaroni Grill our choices are further limited.
These are business that MUST turn a profit and will not be here for us to enjoy if the types of restaurants you want survey PTC and discover that other major and independent establishments are failing. PTC - support your local great eateries and shun/badmouth and leave comments on a public form such as the citizen about the bad ones after trying them at least 2 times.

Dearest B.J...

New to PTC? Sadly no. I've resided here roughly 11 years - and no, the 'variety' in this town has HARDLY changed IN THE least.

I see a couple o' Long Horns (ie; Every other steakhouse) a Smokey Bones (ie: Crap.) and several italian restaurants which really dont pass for actual italian, unless of course you like...CRAP.

What do I want? As I said, VARIETY. Every damn restaurant in this town is just one clone of another - the same food, same menu, nothing new. Nothing blowing my skirt up, so to speak.

I have no problem supporting our local fine eateries - Sadly, though there are hardly any in town TO support.

Valentino's? Macaroni Grill? Are you KIDDING me? Perhaps if you ventured out of town...or state, or for that matter out of the country you'd see what exactly I'm talking about.

Those two places should have been closed and burnt to the ground mere DAYS after they appeared here. Sure slop. More quantity then quality - Then again, thats what you want isnt it? By you, I mean most of Peachtree City.

Don't get me wrong, you could always go to Wal-mart for a fine dining experiance...

Anywho, suffice to say not ALL of PTC lacks in the food department - Sushi Yoshi is delicious; as is Tai Spice...sadly though, it's not fried, battered or saturated in crap so most people avoid it like the plague...

Ah well, different strokes for different folks!

Joker I have traveled and eaten all over the world, have graduated from cooking school and am currently in Saudi Arabia, so yes I have traveled “out of town”.

I think you are looking for very fine dining which demands high prices. The demographics of PTC and the surrounding areas WILL NOT support this type of restaurant. One of the great things about PTC is living in a community that offers the lifestyle that it does BUT with Atlanta being only 1 hour away there are restaurants that may satisfy your tastes.

I completely disagree with your assessment of Valentino's. The quality of food that this restaurant supplied would hold up anywhere in the USA.

I think you both have valid points but the source of the problem is the number of people who commute outside of the county. If you're on your way home from a job in another county and stop to get dinner, the likelihood is substantial that you'll stop somewhere outside of the county. So, it may be that people won't support greater variety if it isn't conveniently located.

Just my 2 cents. Your mileage may vary.

Wow.

A Rib Shack.

Hey PTC! How about we...Oh, I dont know...get some VARIETY in this town?!

It's the same seven damn things ALL over!

Kisses!
