Town hall panel is too biasedTue, 05/22/2007 - 4:34pm

To all, I think it is obvious that the composition of the town hall panel appears to be pro-TDK extension. Although the press release does not mention TDK specifically, the inclusion of Coweta County and the Chamber of Commerce (they sent a letter to PTC in favor of TDK in 2006) would lead me to believe that is where all of this is going. Bob Lenox and Fred Brown have been outspoken advocates of TDK too. The panel is much too large, and rebuttal opportunities will not exist. I envision the claim following the meeting to read as the panel is overwhelmingly in favor of TDK. I am probably the lone opposition out of the bunch the mayor selected. All of my predictions on the SPLOST and TDK have come true and Peachtree City, Tyrone and Fayette County (sale taxes) will be the losers. You cannot fight the facts, so I assuming this is feel-good PR session. I also thought it strange that the mayor did not request a representative from the Peachtree City Civic Association since he claimed to want to work with the organization. He will invite Coweta County but not the PTCCA? This reminds me of the bogus "educational forums" the Chamber of Commerce staged through their political action committee to pass the SPLOST derived off of bad numbers (Remember when the opposition questions from the audience were not presented to the Chamber's panel at the PTC forum).
