Fayetteville resident Christie Edmondson, 37, got a $300 Million Gold Rush scratch ticket recently from her father, scratched it off, and blacked out for a few seconds. That's because the ticket announced she was a winner of a million dollars.
The lucky ticket was purchased at a Pit Stop located at 10010 Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro.

The mother of two children, a 14 year old daughter and a nine year old son, plans to play it safe, after splurging on a trip to Disney World this summer. And though she has already won big, she plans to keep on scratching too.
According to Edmondson, her family is her first priority.

“I’m going to share my winnings with my family, pay off some bills, and maybe take a little trip,” she shared. “I’m just enjoying the moment. I really have been lucky.”

$300 Million Gold Rush offers over $304 million in total cash prizes including 10 top prizes of $2.5 million, 20 $1 million prizes, more than 19,600 prizes from $1,000 to $50,000, and over 498,000 prizes from $100 to $500.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $9 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 790,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
