Falwell Fallout

Basmati's picture

Jerry Falwell has been dead for a few days now, and after a suitable period of navel gazing, the reviews of his life and achievements have begun trickling in.

Bottom line: despite massive hate radio and conservative columnist efforts to re-cast the Reverend Falwell as a pious man of God, many (if not most!) average Americans recognize and eulogize Falwell for what he was...a narrow-minded hate-filled bigot.

The right-wing media has predictably used Falwell's death to chatter long and hard about purported liberal intolerance of Falwell's intolerance, which strikes me as a trifle disingenious. The right wing natters on about the good that Falwell did, he started a mission for alcoholic men, yada yada yada. The best reply I heard to answer this misdirection ploy: "Serial killer and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer undoubtedly did some good things for someone in his life, as well. That, however, is not for what he will be remembered for." Amen!

Some random reading from newspapers across the nation for your Sunday morning pleasure!

Many people across this country have come to bury Jerry Falwell, not to praise him.

Nice way to spend your Sunday morning. What happened? You used to be kind of funny with your opposition. Now all you do is spew venomous hate.

Man.... I'm glad you don't own firearms and I'm darned glad you ain't in charge of the "CAMP". Although it's obvious that you'd truly enjoy the honor of giving us Right Wingers and Christianists what we deserve in your demented mind.

Shhhh Git Real...I'm hunting ghouls! Smiling

Didja see that one Christianist ghoul have a meltdown the other day? I posted something she took offense to, so she posted a series of increasingly incoherent rants once an hour from one in the morning to eight in the morning! I laugh when that thuggish pig tries to drown out discourse with her cut-n-paste marathons. So typical of those piggish thugs!

It's "Delightful Denise," remember?

"Cut-n-paste marathons" are quite informative and entertaining. Laughing out loud

“Meltdown” – Definitely the result of global warming! Laughing out loud

Well, I told you that “cockroaches” are prolific, but I’m not as prolific as my nocturnal mentor Archy. Laughing out loud

La Cucaracha!

Hope you’re better at “ghoul hunting” than you were at whale hunting, Captain Ahab (superior rank, your delusional fantasy). Laughing out loud

“increasingly incoherent rants” -– I’m able to express my thoughts quite clearly; you just have problems with comprehension. Please give specific examples to back up your baseless claims.

“once an hour” -– Not quite that often, but I’ll give you a little hint. Write in Word when you have some free time, and then post later. I answered several posts since I’d not posted for a week or more. Is that a crime now? Smiling

“thuggish”?

“thuggish”?

“thuggish”?

Laughing out loud --- Prove it!

“tries to drown out discourse” -– Having trouble with the truth again, I see. You just can't come up with a reasonable, intelligent response. “Piggish thug” is certainly not a sapient response.

Neither are the following: "amoral gutterslug", “ghoul,” “sleazy,” or “Pseudo Christian.”

“Piggish” as in

this? (Olivia in her classic sailor outfit)

or this? (Bas comes to call)

or this? ("Some pig," "Terrific," "Radiant," and "Humble")

or this? (Liberalis Limousini)

or this? ("We've had enough of you!")

or this? (Swimming & Scotch)

or this? (Sailing)

or this? (Sneering)

or this? (Smooching)

or this? (More Smooching)

or this? (Salivating or Ruminating?) Laughing out loud

President Harry Truman stated, “No man should be allowed to be President who does not understand hogs.”

Pigs Are Friends, Not Food!

Pigs are curious and insightful animals and every bit as friendly, loyal, and affectionate as dogs. Professor Donald Broom of Cambridge University Veterinary School says, “[Pigs] have the cognitive ability to be quite sophisticated. Even more so than dogs and certainly three-year-olds [especially those who call others "pig!"].”

Like dogs, pigs have done many heroic deeds. Pigs have been known to save the lives of others, including their human friends.

Thanks!

At least I think you can. You post a singing litany of execrating insults and you expect no comeback, refutation, or retaliation?

As someone’s who’s done some work with parenting homes for young women in trouble, I appreciate what Jerry Falwell accomplished for single mothers trying to better themselves in their careers.

To compare the above with Jeffery Dahmar- I don’t think you’re fooling anyone into thinking that’s apples to apples.
