A Peachtree City woman and two children were seriously injured when their golf cart crashed on St. Albans Way near MacDuff Parkway Friday night, police said.

The wreck trapped Odette Torres-Figueroa, 35, under the golf cart, police said. She and the two children suffered serious head and leg injuries as all three were ejected from the cart, police said.

A preliminary investigation shows that the cart was heading west on St. Albans Way when it struck a curb, causing the cart to overturn, police said.

Torres-Figueroa was taken to Atlanta Medical Center and the two children were taken to Children’s Healthcare, police said.

A comprehensive reconstruction of the crash is being conducted by investigators with the police department’s community response team.

My heart goes out the lady and her children. I'm guessing the carts aren't required to have safety belts? I saw my first golf cart in my Fayetteville subdivision the other day. It was being driven by a girl that could be no more than 15 with 3 other kids around the same age.
Made me wonder what will come of all this?
