Holiday Trees vs. Christmas Trees?

Brown's micromanaging this city means this years dumbing down of our christmas celebration was dead center the responsibility of Steve Brown.

Which is okay, I guess. Many want to take the Christ out of Christmas. I'm not particularly worried about it myself, but I find it reprensible to do it secretly and discretely.

Brown explained that the large christmas tree was named Grand because it was grand is silly.
I saw the brochure that the City passed out and it was clear that this was a HOLIDAY CELEBRATION. I only saw the fine print about christmas when it said a christmas tree would be given away at the Fred.
Otherwise, all over the brochure were comments about HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

Again, this is alright with me. If PTC likes a politically correct holiday, then so be it, but to lie and hide behind some peculiar theory that this was anything but a politically correct retreat, is beneath us.

Shame on you Steve. Admit that YOU MICROMANAGED CHRISTMAS TO BE RELIGIOUS NEUTRAL.
I'm sort of suprised you've not done something to support Kwanzai (sic) that made up holiday to assuage the limited self esteem of many of our fellow citizens.

You can certainly say PTC's "holiday" concert wasn't secular ... not that it's a bad thing. Because of the participation of several churches, many of the songs were Christian in nature.

I think a Christmas tree should be called just that. But don't make the leap that this was an entirely secular event just because the tree was called "grand" and not Grand Christmas or whatever anyone else has suggested.

By the way, the kiddies were really excited at the tree lighting, and I must say it was a gorgeous tree. Aren't the kids one of the main reasons to enjoy Christmas anyway???

Well, said.

Don't take Christmas from the kids. Not even for one year or moment.

I was glad to see that Sonny Perdue did not pander to the liberal "political correctness" mentality, and he had the guts to call his Christmas tree indeed a Christmas tree.

Brown on the other hand not only pandered to the "politically correct" mentality but actually instigated the "political correctness", taking the word "Christmas" out of our Christmas tree here in liberal old Peachtree City. He also has constantly worked through Virgil Fludd and the Democratic representatives to try to get his various agenda through the Legislature. For example, with the attempt to break Fayette County into districts, he aligned himself with these Democrats, as well as the NAACP, greatly to the detriment of the Republican Party in Fayette County. It's all on record in the Citizen archives.

And it's not a matter of skin color. It's a matter of political philosophy. This is evidenced by the fact that Dylan Glenn, an African-American Republican, actually outpolled our Congressman Lynn Westmoreland in Peachtree City in the last election, and did not need a special minority-heavy district to do so.

True Republicans worth their salt should vote this wolf in sheep's clothing out of office at the next opportunity next Tuesday.

By that we have a lot or Republicans in Congress that are not true Republicans.

Race card means nothing in PTC elections. Vote issues that affect PTC.

I say that as one who is totally fed up with race based politics and preferences. People are people.

On the issues Logsdon looses. Brown does have good positions on key issues. Logsdon, on the other hand, just says 'need to look into it.'

And will not reply to questions on specifics.

He is an empty suit.

I believe Brown has seen the error of his ways in this area.

Christmas Tree, Grand Christmas Tree, PTC Christmas Tree or whatever. As long as it is a Christmas Tree.
