Panthers and Patriots move on in baseball playoffs

The Starr's Mill Panthers defeated the Brunswick Pirates in two games to start the AAAA state baseball playoffs. The Panthers won game one 7-5 behind four RBIS from Trent Freeman, two from Tyler Claburn and a home run from Brian Fletcher. Starr's Mill won game two 5-3 after a delay due to inclement weather.

The Sandy Creek Patriots traveled to take on Gainesville, champions of their region, and won game one 10-5 and game two 4-3.

Whitewater's boys were knocked out of the AAAA playoffs by Greenbrier. The Wildcats lost game one 5-1 and were defeated 11-0 in game two.

We still have two teams in the state baseball playoffs and all three teams deserve congratulations on great seasons. Let's keep it rolling!
