Starr's Mill had a 1-0 lead at halftime of the AAAA final thanks to a goal from Katrina Frost. They held on to the lead for 14 hours, through a lightning delay, until the game started again at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Whitewater got on the board late in the second half with a goal from Jewelia Strickland. The two teams remained tied until the second five-minute overtime period when Whitewater's Brittany Vining headed in a corner kick for the win. It is the first team state title in school history. login to post comments |
