Starr's Mill had a 1-0 lead at halftime of the AAAA final thanks to a goal from Katrina Frost. They held on to the lead for 14 hours, through a lightning delay, until the game started again at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Whitewater got on the board late in the second half with a goal from Jewelia Strickland. The two teams remained tied until the second five-minute overtime period when Whitewater's Brittany Vining headed in a corner kick for the win.
It is the first team state title in school history.

I thought the Whitewater Wrestlers won a (some) some state title(s) - or so I thought? I am not sure though - help me out here.

Regardless, congrats to Whitewater High School for winning a State Title! Congrats to Starr's Mill for a hard fought runner-up as well!

Every school in this county now has at least one State Championship!

Also, you may want to mention the Tennis team from Fayette that won a State title yesterday to end a 12 year winning streak of Marist.

Also, the runner (A. Enriquez?) that has won three state championships/titles this year and is going for a fourth in track.

Good job to all! We should all be proud of our schools and the kids we have here in Fayette County!
