With a unanimous vote Thursday night, the Fayette County Commission approved $1.5 million for the construction of the first phase of the massive Kenwood Park on the northern boundary of the county.
After the vote, Chairman Jack Smith said he expects this phase of the park to open in September or October.

First, and foremost, Jack Smith isn't ripping anyone off. The citizens of North Fayette paid taxes into the county coffers (like every other part of the county) and are entitled to recreation space. The citizens of South Fulton and Clayton may be unintended beneficiaries of that space but the same can be said for North Coweta and North Spaulding residents being able to cross into and use Fayette County resources. (Funny that you're not whining about that.) So, on that point we do not agree.

However, I do agree that a strong police presence is going to be required to keep the interlopers from turning a good thing bad.

If you and I are always in agreement, one of us is likely armed and dangerous.
