Tinseltown II

It has been about a year since Tinseltown Theaters had a problem with rodents. Those days are back, with a four year-old moviegoer recently producing a dead mouse from under his seat, much to the dismay of his family.

Fayette County Environmental Health Director Rick Fehr has completed two inspections since the report and confirmed today that Tinseltown management has acknowledged a problem with rodents. Fehr said he found evidence of rodents in movie screen areas. Fehr also noted rodent holes along some interior walls.

The theater’s most recent health inspection, conducted May 8, resulted in a score of 82. The prior inspection in October was 95.

Eeekkkk.....I guess it was never cleaned up properly after the last time. Or someone's pockets got padded to look the other way!

I'm glad to see that we have a diligent health department keeping watch over these folks. It's obvious that the management and help still requires some training regarding the cleaning and maintenance of the building. Isn't there a state law that requires them to employ a pest control company if they cannot resolve their issues?

I like Rick and the gang at the health department. But you gotta wonder how these little rodents got past em.

I've been lobbying for a job as a Fayette Health Inspector for sometime now. After this episode I feel pretty confident I can handld that position with ease. I figure if a 4 year old can do it then surely I can handle it.

It's amazing how little authority our Health Department has. They can look and see, theycan talk about the problem, but they can't do anything immediate about it. To shut down the offenders requires the City Council to revoke their license if I remember right from this episode last year. Rock Fehr might want to hire a couple of four year olds to help with the inspections though, they are good for finding this sort of thing.

Kudo's to the 4 year old and his family for binging this out.

And SHAME to the Health Department for not taking a more agressive stance after the problems last year. Inspect the dickens out of the place, do it monthly, beat the heck out of their score, let them know they can't get away with this stuff. Don't inspect them 8 months apart and give them a score of 82 with a rat problem, that says we don't care about the rats.

I can't believe the place is still open. Compared to the thugs in the parking lot the rats inside are a small problem.

It's called Netflix and it is cleaner and less expensive.

It's Baaaack. Fecal-town movie theater - where rats hang out.

Go adopt three nice cats. Females preferred. Clean the theatre of all food stuff - then shut it down for a week with the cats locked inside - clean it again. Keep the cats locked up in the day and let them out from close at night to open. Problem solved. Cool

Of course, considering all the vermin that hangs out at the Pavillion, I'm sure they would be back soon.Eye-wink

But I would suggest that we buy lottery tickets to see who gets to hunt the two legged kind.

At a $1.00/ticket, I'm good for $10.00.

It's amazing people still go there after what happened last time. I'm not sure which is more traumatic; being tied up and robbed at gunpoint or eating popcorn with rat crap in it.

You may not be able to bring your own munchies to Tinseltown but if you're properly credentialed you can bring your gun.

Any questions?

Actually the new movie theater in Newnan is very nice and clean.

It's the only movie theater, in the area, I'll take my kids.

I would definately pay to go sit in an empty theater with a pistol and pick off rats for a couple hours!!!

Among other various and sundry other nasty things.
Obviously only pigs go there to watch movies. A "Pig pin."
Just as obvious is the lack of incentive for the owners to clean the place with a fire hose and a steam hose every day.
Dropping of undisciplined kids there to act like violent Roman gladiators, who have never been taken there by parents and taught how to behave, is unacceptable.
Almost as bad as "johnny houses" around home building projects. They are so bad that the workers use the woods, the house closets, and the back stoop---out the door--as bathrooms.
We are on our way back to Europe, South America, and Africa!
Officials are stymied.
