Second straight state title for Our Lady of Mercy, solid finishes for several othersTue, 05/08/2007 - 1:22pm

Our Lady of Mercy’s girls edged out Landmark Christian School, 68-66, for their second consecutive Class A state championship in track and field. Athletes who placed in the top eight for these schools were: Long jump Shot put • Hannah Allen, Our Lady of Mercy, 8th, 32’7” 1,600 meter relay • Landmark Christian (Kaity Bulger, Jo’el Christian, Christian McGuire, Kassi Deel, Kathleen Duncan, Kenzie Thrasher), 3rd, 4:09.077 400 meter relay • Landmark Christian (Christian, Bulger, McGuire, Deel, Alyssa Rambo and Duncan), 4th, 50.322 100 meter dash 200 meter dash 400 meter dash • Katie Bishoff, Our Lady of Mercy, 3rd, 1:00.096 800 meter run • Sarah Hohenberger, Our Lady of Mercy, 3rd, 2:22.302 1,600 meter run 3,200 meter run 100 meter intermediate hurdles Triple jump 300 meter low hurdles • Kenzie Thrasher, Landmark Christian, 7th, 52.317 High jump • Pole vault In the Class AAAA meet, Starr’s Mill placed sixth, McIntosh placed 10th and Whitewater placed 37th.
