May 7, 2007 — Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin Monday alerted Georgia consumers to a voluntary recall of a risotto, sold at Target stores, that has the potential of being contaminated with Salmonella bacteria.

The six-ounce package of Archer Farms Four Cheese Risotto, with the product code, “Best If Used By 16JUL2008AA,” is produced by Aulcorp Food Marketers, Inc., Toronto.

The product — which has been voluntarily recalled by the manufacturer — has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal illness in children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.

The Archer Farms Four Cheese Risotto was sold nationwide through Target stores before being pulled off retail shelves.

It is packaged in a 6 oz. (170g) paperboard box with a mustard yellow banner that identifies the item as the Four Cheese flavor.

“Georgians who have this product may return it a Target store for a full refund,” said Irvin.
