Shop Peachtree City?

Did anyone else notice no coverage of "Shop Peachtree City Month" in Peachtree City?

I went back and looked...every year since 1999 there has been a proclamation for "Shop Peachtree City Month", encouraging us to stay local and shop in town.

Except for two years - 2003 and this year. In 2003, the Council was too busy working out the management arrangement for the Tennis Center and Amphitheater.

What's the excuse this year?

(conjecture begins here)
-Is it because the mayor's a little too busy trying to save his job?
-It is "sour grapes" against the SPLOST?

(Remember, the SPLOST is applied to SALES TAX. So if you shop in Peachtree City, we get even more money for our roads. And Steve Brown didn't want to pass the SPLOST because he didn't think it was fair enough. Instead of working to get what we could given the County Commission's decision, he would have rather received nothing).

The mayor truly supports the business community - when it's convenient for him.
