Relocate-America.com has named Peachtree City one of its “Top 100 Places to Live” in the United States.

Peachtree City was selected for the honor after it and other nominated cities were parsed for a variety of factors including schools, people and neighborhoods, activities, economic health, environmental health and the beauty of the area.

Each town’s data for education, crime, employment and housing were also reviewed by the company.

On the city’s review on the web site, the company calls Peachtree City “a unique combination of low crime, careful planning and balanced growth. The company also lauded the high test scores in both city and county schools.

The Top 10 communities from "America's Top 100 Places to Live in 2007" are:

1. Asheville, N.C.

2. Traverse City, Mich

3. Ithaca, N.Y.

4. Chicago, Ill.

5. Cary, N.C.

6. Portland, Maine

7. San Francisco, Calif.

8. Stevens Point, Wis.

9. O'Fallon, Mo.

10. Spencer, IA

The remainder of the Top 100 weren’t ranked by number but instead were listed alphabetically.

This is what we are letting go, in other words letting Coweta dictate our future traffic patterns...
I assume PTC will soon drop from this list....

JGF9148 I believe it said "Balanced Growth" not Slow Growth. I know Naperville Illinois is ALWAYS on all these lists just as it is again with this one. When PTC made that other list of the best cities to live in, a few years ago, Naperville was number one on that one. What do they do in Naperville - Annex Like Crazy - I worked there in the early 80's when the population was around 35k, now the current population is 146k, all through mass annexation and developement - and it continues due to the fact that it's the place people want to live - kinda like Peachtree City.

I know a certain city council member. He or she is not concerned with what the citizens want, but what he/she wants and his/her neighborhood wants. Although why that neighborhood wants anexation is beyond me. MacDuff is perfect the way it is, a quiet dead end road.
