One of the largest and most upscale developments south of Interstate 20 got a unanimous approval Tuesday night from the Coweta County Commission. McIntosh Village will feature more than 3,100 homes and 600,000 sq.ft of retail space on McIntosh Trail in eastern Coweta County. The huge development will border Peachtree City and the County Commission imposed 42 conditions on developer Tom Reese. Read the full story in Friday's Citizen. login to post comments

I have lived in Peachtree City since 1984. Like many I make trips to Coweta county often for shopping and dining.

No more Coweta County shopping for me. This development will clearly benefit Coweta county at the expense (traffic) of Peachtree City and Fayette County. As the development up at the I-85 intersection increases, added to the 6 to 10 thousand additional vehicles from Coweta County, Peachtree City is basically going to be choked to death.

I forsee Crosstown road becoming a race track; six laning of Peachtree Parkway South(with addition of many redlights); four laning of Peachtree Parkway North (with more redlights). Goodbye trees, hello traffic.

Any of you who work north of I-20, if there are any left, will be sorely pressed to justify staying here as your commute lengthens and lengthens.

Oh yes, the cost will not be borne by the residents of the new Coweta County development, much less by the developers.
