A group of students from McIntosh High School have put together a Guitar Hero II tournament in an effort to raise money for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in the name of Child’s Play, a charity organization that doantes videogames, toys, movies, etc. to children’s hospitals all over the world. The tournament started as a project for an English class taught by Jana Miller. The students were asked to do research on a charitable organization and do some volunteer work for them. Matt Coppola, Alex Mercado, April Ford, William Ballard and Craig Veilleux chose Child’s Play but couldn’t volunteer because the organization is based in Seattle, Wash. Miller suggested holding a video game tournament and donating the funds to a children’s hospital. Child’s Play was more than happy to have a donation made in their name. The tournament will take place Saturday, Apr. 22 at 2 p.m. at XPlayground in Peachtree City. The game will be Guitar Hero II on XBox360 and admission is $5, whether you want to play or just watch. XPlayground is located at 313 Dividend Drive in Peachtree City. Visit www.xplayground.biz for more information. login to post comments |
