BROWNOUT - T MINUS 5

Is the groundswell against Steve Brown growing? Look at the recent comments (this is around 8:15 tonight).

Don't forget to enjoy your weekend. I hear there are several neighborhoods with excellent Christmas light displays.

Benjamin Anderson Benjamin Anderson, 2, of Peachtree City waits in Santa’s sleigh for the big guy to show up at the start of Christmas tree lighting fesitivities in Tyrone Tuesday. Sources say that if Peachtree City mayor Steve Brown isn't re-elected, Christmas will be cancelled. (JOKE)

Then, on TUESDAY, GO VOTE (for Logsdon)!

Got a phone call this evening with a one-question survey: "If you were to vote today on the runoff for mayor between Steve Brown and Harold Logsdon, who would you choose?" No hesitation in my answer: "Harold Logsdon!"

So, who do you suppose is doing the survey? Harold (with his "war chest")? Steve Brown? The Citizen? Would love to hear the results. But I guess we'll know the real answer in a few days.

I got one of those before and said Brown.

Never got another phone poll call or the ones that people were complaining about as being uninvited.

That is until today where I got one asking if I was going to vote and encouraging me to vote for Logsdon.

I said I was voting Brown and asked where Logsdon said stood on specific issues.

They did not know and told me to call Logsdon directly.

Amazing! Even his own staff doesn't know where he stands!

And you are voting for him?

There are some who have to read all the directions and still get lost, and those who just know where to go.

There is no answer they could have given because Logsdon has never given an answer on anything but the Tennis debt.

One post does not a ground swell make.

In fact I think Logsdon is loosing ground.

Tuesday will tell if enough loss.

More people are realizing he has not said anything beyond assume the debt.

...but REALLY, now.

loosing ground = Applicable if he's in an earthquake.

losing ground = what Steve Brown is right now against Harold Logsdon.

And there is more than just one post.

Steve Brown may be the best politician around, but he's not the best leader. And I've met Harold, and asked him the questions we debate. I'm satisfied with his answers - he will come into office, analyze all the information the City can provide and help make the best decisions he can. That's all we can ask, and in my opinion an improvement over the (perceived by some)game show host that we've currently got.

But hey - folks want Warren Beatty to be governor of California. He're hoping we're not as nutty.

Feel free to comment back, but say hi to coolmartita and remind her you get the last word in as much as you can.

Then how can he make the promise to freeze taxes and even lower them if he told you he had not analyzed squat yet?

How can he make the determination to assume the Tennis Court debt if he does not have the information yet?

And he has more than enough information to not have made the false claim nothing has been done on infrastructure to date.

I know he is not Clinton but remember his campaign promise? Trust me to do it right.

I just don't want to - maybe someone else would like to battle this blogger - any of my fellow Logsdon supporters?

Again, you can read and read and ask and ask, and sometimes just not get the answers you need.

I'm satisfied - and that makes my decision simple. You'll choose Brown. I'll choose Logsdon. Everyone else will choose who they believe is right. I hope they'll choose Logsdon.

Go vote on December 6!

You have the right to vote for whatever reason you wish.

But it remains a fact you do not know any more than I where Logsdon stands on any issue but the Tennis Court debt.

We can agree Brown does undesirable things at times.

But I at least have the real and firm positions he takes on Golf Cart Paths and Stormwater, in example, that I support.

You cannot give me a sane reason to vote against someone who stands on key issues where I do. Especially when Logsdon has been evasive and made claims he cannot keep.

That's your definition of sanity. My definition of sanity involves reducing character assassinations, micromanagment and meglomania. So I guess after four years, I'd like my sanity back.

Why did you vote for President Bush, assuming you did?

Lesser of two evils. Had more answers I agreed with than Kerry, which didn't take much.

Same with Logsdon and Brown.

I see issues with both. But at least Brown has taken some stands I support as important.

Logsdon stands for nothing.

Brown would be "proud" you are comparing him to Bush. And maybe it's fair. Bush has a 37 percent approval rating and Brown probably has about the same (or less). Of course it took W a second term to get that low. Brown did it in one term.
As for Brown's "stands?" You're right. He does take "stands." That stand is to change anything done prior to his arrival in PTC. You know, get rid of the "developers." Get rid of the "old guard." Get rid of the "good ol' boys." Problem is these "evildoers" (another good Bushism) only exist in Brown's feeble mind.
Gee, another similarity to Bush and Brown...the "evildoers." Bush has Iran, Iraq, and North Korea. Brown has DirectPac, the Developers, and the Former Mayors. Good thing Brown doesn't control an Army, he'd invade Tyrone or somewhere to get Osama Bin Developer.

I said stands on such as the Golf Cart Paths, Tennis Center and Stormwater that Logsdon has no stand on, except assume the debt, but still claims he will freeze and cut taxes.

You just don't want to address the facts on those infrastructure and spending issues. You just want to whirl, twirl and spin it all away to other issues.

And got news for you. I am glad the old ways of the Good Ole Boys was challenged. Those guys you are upholding are the problems we faced in the past.

First, when did widening the cart paths become such a huge issue? I hadn't actually heard this "plan" until recently on this blog. Has anyone considered that it could mean the purchase of a significant amount of property? And besides, people on the paths have been very considerate over the years when passing each other. Do we really need to widen the paths? Repair them yes...but widen them? And why hasn't Brown after 4 years kept up with path repair? Suddenly NOW he's addressing the problem? Where was he for the last 4 years on this? Oh...that's right, he was busy uncovering the great DAPC conspiracy.

As for the "good ol' boys," any specifics? Let's see..., who built PTC...oh, that's right...Developers. Who designed the cart paths system...oh...that's right...Developers. Who built the sports complexes...oh...that's right...Developers. But who set up the sports programs?...oh...I remember...the Good ol' boys. Who worked to set up quality of life that we all came here for?...oh...that's right...the "good ol' boys."

Too bad Stevie boy didn't move here earlier. He could have saved us from the developers and good ol' boys BEFORE they committed the horrid acts like cart paths, planned community, sports complexes, sports programs, youth programs, Boy Scouts, top public education. You know, all the things Brownie is saving us from.

Get off the "good ol' boy" crap. It is nothing more. Anyone who has lived here more than 10 years knows that.
