Please tell me why Fayette County is changing to BCBS AGAIN????

I have recently found out that Fayette County is going back to BCBS when we had so much trouble with them last time. We had to go to hospitals and doctors that were out of our county and what a mess. They do not cover the things that most of us are having done. Their customer service is horrible... Cigna was a much better plan for most of the people I have talked to about this and I have been told(for what that is worth) that our rates stayed the same that there was not a significant savings by going back to BCBS can anyone tell me why and what is going on.

I agree; BCBS bites. (I still think there was a potential breach of contract lawsuit against them for the Piedmont Hospital dust up.) But going with BCBS saved the county a bunch of money and allowed employees to keep their same doctors, hospital, etc., according to what I've heard (not that I know it to be true). And the unfortunate truth is that government employees are the easiest people to "pimp" when you want to tell the taxpayers that you saved them money. After all, if the employee publicly disputes his employer, he'll be fired for insubordination.

Kinda makes you think what we might learn about our county government (and the state and the feds, for that matter) if employees were free to speak. Hmmm . . . .

I'd like to know, too. I'm saving $12 a paycheck by going back to BCBS, but I much preferred Cigna. The doctors that I have talked to have said that we are getting the bad end of the deal -- they prefer Cigna, too.
