26 minutes of racing through the county

Pictured is the map that shows the Tour’s route through Peachtree City on Monday. The race is expected to lure thousands to the city and provide a boost to the city’s tourism efforts. For all the details about the event, refer to the special section in Friday’s paper.

How can the kids watch? Hopefully they're in school where they belong.

Great! Not another year of having to deal with the “Tour de LOSERS” race through the streets of Georgia. It’s bad enough already having to deal with these arrogant cyclist everyday, but again we have to be subjected to another day of having to wait on them while they back up traffic for a “race” that only a handful of people care about. I don’t know why this continues to be an event every year. Nobody wants to sponsor it. And could it be because most companies don’t want to be associated with something that 99% of the public could care less about or even hate? I think that it is. I just hope that our city officials are proud of the tens of dollars that this race will bring in for the city and for annoying the majority of the people that live in this city.

Have you ridden a bike recently Mole? Neither did I until about this time last year. Have lost almost 20 lbs since then just biking about 10 miles every other day on our wonderful path system. Yes, the congestion is a pain for a short time. Bubbah can't get to Kroger to get his chips and get back on the sofa fast enough to suit him. It might not be a bad idea for our kids to see people working hard in a race and maybe learn a little about something they didn't know much about before. Bicycling is an excellent way to keep in shape and these racers are examples of people that care about taking good care of themselves. Various sports competitions are great things to compete in and to watch. Maybe not your cup of tea but watch how many kids line the streets.

Do you have a problem with the name Bubba, or is your problem with southern men?

You said "Bubbah can't get to Kroger to get his chips and get back on the sofa fast enough to suit him."

Are you a transplanted northerner that has realized the joys of living in the south or are you a southerner that hates your heritage?

Just curious,
Bubba
