The Major's apology

XvolunteerFF's picture

The Major used to be a volunteer firefighter and I knew him there. Amazing how many former service members joined the volunteer ranks. Our former Chief and now acting Chief are retired military. There were at least 3-4 others there as well.

Anyway he contacted me and asked me to post his apology. He promises Cal he would learn from this lesson to control his legendary temper.

Here is what he sent me:

I apologize

I apologize for responding to a personal attack on my honor.

I apologize for getting in the gutter with another blogger.

I am diasappointed that those that dish it out can't take it.

I'm sorry the country has become ruled by lawyers.

I'm sorry men can't handle things themselves.

I'm sorry I didn't ignore the ignorant.

End of message.

Dear XvolunteerFF,

I have a dear friend who works for the FD. He assures me you are a good man.

It's good to see you, a former Army Officer, and former fire fighter on here helping to keep things in balance in the absence of our former blogger.

I will go out on a limb and assume you were a former Army04 when you were working for the FD. Good for you. Make new friends but keep the old.

Watch out for bogus claims of liable from hypocrites begging for people to be banned from the site and censored. The answer to your question is "NO, you cannot liable an anonymous poster like banmany." First, basmaster would have to subpoena the Citizen to reveal your identity – not likely since his is also unknown that he could get a judge to issue a subpoena since there is no protection against liable for an anonymous user – which is the argument he would have to make to have the subpoena issued. Secondly, your ISP would then have to receive a subpoena to reveal the identity of you, the user. Again, highly unlikely and at this point I would suggest you involve the ACLU in your defense.

Again, basmini would have to argue that your identity was not protected while it is ‘anonymous’, but that his ‘anonymous’ identity has protection from liable.

Keep in mind all of this is required before he can even begin to try and prove damage to an ‘anonymous’ moniker that must show both damages and a remedy for an ‘annonymous’ blogger.

Realize also that Major was banned for alleged language infractions – NOT liable.

Anyway, it’s legal double speak and bimistress’s ‘anonymous’ identity does not have the same legal protection or rights as a known identity – if it did, he would be able to legally use an alias to acquire additional legal remedy, resources and services, documents, passports and benefits.

I for one would contribute the first check to any defense Army Major would need to muster although the case would never get traction. I would love to see basmidget spend her money and fight the Citizen, Major’s ISP, the ACLU and a good lawyer who filed charges of filing a frivolous lawsuit against bamsilly so someone could laugh her out of the courtroom.

Richard Hobbs - or any other lawyers care to chime in? This is the opinion of my 'family' lawyer. Eye-wink

The major is trying to get on the town payroll to try later to triple dip with pensions. We have numerous of those here in PTC.

I was a volunteer for six years, but could not maintain the 10 hours a month training requirement with other committments. Also, as Sean Connery said in "A bridge to far", I'm getting much to old and far too large to do that anymore.

Firefighting is a young man's game, a 48 year old would just slow them down, although running the pumper was fun!

So I will have to survive on my meager earnings without city retirement.

Too bad, the PCFD IS a great organization. I would encourage anyone with the time and aptitude to give back to the city and VOLUNTEER!

I enjoyed extrication training (jaws of life cutting up cars, Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course EVOC was like a fantasy driving camp, high speed skids, controlled braking, skid recovery etc.

If all the pensions have been earned, what's the problem?

Please tell me you know what volunteer means. Also, please tell me you don’t have any teeth and that your glasses are crooked.

Just go with it.

Please.

There are a number of positions that are gained by first "volunteering." The very chief that has just retired in PTC
was a "volunteer" until he was able to get on regular.
Another area where this methid is used is local zoos and such. Volunteer for awhile and you may be chosen if an opening occurs.
Not all volunteers get hired! Those of the correct persuasion, etc., only. Hopefully, he just wants to volunteer for 10-15 years.
Not all of us are so inexperienced as to be so easily fooled without question. Who one knows means a great deal.

What a bad man he is for volunteering.

Thanks for letting me know he was just trying to work for a living after already having worked for a living and not living off of his retirement and sitting around blogging all day!

Geez, it takes all kinds huh Dollar!?

He wants to be like me and be a double dipper..... or worse like Col. Myword_Mark - he is a triple dipper too..... remember him??

No way on God's earth I could have gone Navy. I love you like a brother but you are still a squid. I’ll die defending you but I can make fun of you. You know how it works.

Besides, you said Dollar and thinks in the same sentence. I would never do that.

the best part of being a squid is never having to be defended. I was going to go Air Force but they found out I could read.

Yea, I guess someone has to read those Japanese maps so you guys can find your way around under there. So what do 200 guys, all alone, under the sea, in a falic symbol do all night anyway?

Did you ever go to Subic Bay in the Phillipines?

One of the few Navy Bases (other than Pensacola NAS for dive school) that I was stationed at while in the USAF(TDY of course).

I can't call you a peer 'queen' on here can I?

I ran a bit of radar myself in tech school - I never had to under pressure or in a real time scenario (did I spell that backwards- radar I mean)?

Thank you for your service Hutch!

Welcome home.

I always spelled it the other way myself. Thank you, but I was a peacetime sailor so I never really left. The only ones we ever fought were the officers and the seabee's
