All 3 victims taken by helicopter from crash site Three people were critically injured in a crash late Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Ga. Highway 74 and Aberdeen Parkway, police said. Traffic on Ga. Highway 74 in the area was halted in both directions for more than a half-hour as three separate medical helicopters had to land on the road to take victims to area hospitals. Police said the preliminary investigation of the crash scene revealed that Leonard Dunn of Fayetteville was driving north on Hwy. 74 when Melissa Painter of Fayetteville, who was traveling south on 74, turned left attempting to reach Aberdeen Parkway, causing the collision. Painter, Dunn and a third unidentified passenger in Dunn’s vehicle were all considered to be in critical condition immediately after the accident, which was reported at 5:50 p.m., police said. Dunn’s vehicle, an older model Porsche Targa convertible, was heavily damaged on the front end, causing the passenger compartment to collapse on the occupants of the car. Painter was driving an older model Honda Accord. Dunn was listed in critical condition Thursday at Atlanta Medical Center, but information about Painter and the passenger in Dunn’s vehicle was unavailable at press time. login to post comments |
