It was a precautionary tale Tuesday night at The Avenue in Peachtree City as the area around The Bombay Company was cordoned off after reports that a powdery substance was found inside a returned package.

Public safety officials from the city and county at approximately 8 p.m. responded to a call about a suspicious package after Bombay Company employees called emergency dispatchers with the report that a package returned by a known customer contained a powdery substance, said Peachtree City Public Information Officer Betsy Tyler.

Emergency response crews arrived in mass, evacuating several adjacent stores in the area. HazMat teams took possession of the package and on examination found no evidence of a powdery substance, Tyler said. There were no injures in the incident, she added.

The incident was one in which a precautionary response was taken, Tyler said.

It was pine pollen. Wasn't it?
Did someone tell them it had a powdery substance in it? Was it written on the package?
Some details missing, isn't there?
