Peachtree City: Show Mayor Logsdon the door

Twelve reasons to show Mayor Harold Logsdon the door:

1. Broken tax/budget pledges. Your higher fees and taxes mean you pay 30% more. He has difficulty telling the truth. Now the city is saying another increase is coming. What happened to cutting the budget to reduce our taxes?

2. The mayor used over a million tax dollars to payoff the development authority and the bank for their evil deeds. They play, we pay!

3. Cronyism. The powerful few that supported the mayor are profiting. The pork keeps getting doled out. We pay again!

4. He’s anti-planned community. Logsdon’s Westside plan is a direct contradiction to Peachtree City’s current land plan which calls for lower densities on the border.

5. High crime. His support for explosive development means more crime is on the way.

6. Developers always win, citizens lose. Logsdon’s developer contributors are filling the council docket with rezonings and annexations.

7. Logsdon negotiated for and fully supports the TDK deal which brings tens of thousands of additional cars onto our roads.

8. He’s anti-Peachtree City business. Logsdon favors building the huge shopping centers outside the border in Coweta depriving our businesses and lowering our sales tax revenues.

9. Low employee morale. He’s paying off corruption while he’s cutting employee benefits and that’s not right.

10. Selfishness. At the same time he’s cutting everyone’s pay, he asks for a 100% pay raise.

11. He’s pro-big box. He's supporting the huge Lowe’s on Highway 74 and the Kohl’s on Highway 54. We already have these type of stores and we surely don’t need the additional traffic and crime.

12. Appearance decay. Grass is uncut with more trash and graffiti appearing all over cart paths. All of our beautiful trees are being cut down.

I agree with dollaradayandfound and skyspy about the content of staff report’s blog being true. Intheknow is glued to Harold Logsdon’s rear.

My next door neighbor is a police officer and “loathing” might be the right way to describe the way he feels toward the mayor. John Mumford wrote a story (give us the reference John) on the police feeling like they had no choice but to go union. I remember they came right out and said the mayor and the city manager were causing problems.

Intheknow says, “… it's our taxpayers whom ultimately will decide about our pay, benefits and level of services they want.” That’s a bunch of horse manure. As skyspy has said, the taxpayers don’t get a say on anything with Harold Logsdon. The taxpayers are getting the shaft. Look at TDK!

Logsdon blatantly lied on taxes and intheknow is running cover for him. And what about his going for the 100 percent pay raise? Are you going to make excuses for that too intheknow? The mayor ought to resign.

It’s also pretty obvious that the TDK, Kohl’s and Lowe’s deals are rigged in the favor of his development buddies too.

I think intheknow is really our sorry I'm -in-the-drunk-tank-ya-know?(our city manager)

After reading it a couple of times I'm convinced it is our sorry drunk bozo city manager. Who else could be completely clueless, besides harold?

Where else could this clown go to work?? What other city in the world would pay this drunk to even "manage" their outhouses, let alone the whole city?!

This city falls deeper into the twilight zone everyday.

The blogger that signs itself "Staff Report" is NOT an employee or representative of The Citizen, though it seems the blogger might intend that inference to be taken.

I try to keep my censorious hands off a lot of stuff on here that seems to me to be in poor taste or evidence of just plain ignorance.

I have some advice for "Staff Report" and others of similar ilk who seem inclined toward deception: Change your name. Cease trying to cast yourself in a false light.

Otherwise I'll have to get involved.

While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I must comment on your one comment "#9. Low employee morale"
While being a city employee myself and knowing employees in various city departments. I'd have to say the lowest point in employee morale in recent times was the four years of mico-managed hell that we all went through with Steve-O in office. Under the house husband's rule, someone whom never supervised anyone other than his children, employee morale sunk to it's lowest depths. YOU have no idea how happy city employees were, when that letter writing fool was ousted by Mr. Logsdon. While I don't have direct knowledge, as I wasn't there, supposedly there was even a celebratory party thrown with directors and Chiefs held following Mr. Browns defeat. I don't think morale could ever drop to that low, and I know it's not that bad now.
We know about the economic realities of doing business, and it's our taxpayers whom ultimately will decide about our pay, benefits and level of services they want. For what Peachtree City residents have received in services for years, we've all been getting by cheap. If you want the same kind of recreation, library, cart and street maintenance and Police / Fire / EMS protection (etc...) it's going to cost.

Intheknow is Dan Tennant. And Dan closed the door on us.

Don't believe a word he says, just ask his ex-wife.

A city staff person who I know and trust. The trust part eliminates Dan Tennant. I think the Logsdon haters are Brown supporters or more likely Brown himself stirring up an opposition that really does not exist in PTC. Let the man govern without all the snide comments. After all, smarter people than you let Brown govern without going after him personally.

Now, think about that last comment when you know johenry is Steve Brown. Think deeply, I know some of you can.

Here we go with the delusional everyone who cares about the city is Steve Brown speech again. Look Dan Tennant (or intheknow) asked us to build an idol in his image and bow down to it twice a day. Everyone declined. Speaking of Dan, where is he when we need him now? He was a big TDK supporter. All of those guys have crawled under a rock somewhere.

If TDK goes through now, knowing what we do about it, we really need to have an investigation of the mayor and council.

I can't believe the staff of The Citizen wrote this.
However, all those things said are partly true, mostly, true.
What isn't realized is that if PTC is to continue expansion so that we become larger and larger, and have much larger tax supported staffs and more ball fields, more, more, more, of everything, the we must either grow by more commercialism, mostly stores. Industry quit coming here for some reason.
This has been the choice made.
If you want to stay the same as now, then elect someone who says that in writing and agrees to resign if he doesn't do that.
There are other ways to go: such as, A large college here, a large county YMCA or equivalent, large state and federal government offices, a resort--a big one.

Everyone here has the right to free speech. As you stated everything this person said is true. They really understated the problem.

harold and his flunkies are anti- any peachtree citizen......they hate all of the residents here and love the developers with leaky roofs and windows...
One of our councilFOOLS lives in this half-hack developer's homes.....I guess that explains why we all need to approve of this fools new developement and TDK.
