A Union City man was found murdered in his apartment Monday after co-workers inquired about his absence from work. Union City Police have a man in custody in connection with the death.

The names of the victim and the suspect are currently being withheld by police as the investigation unfolds, Sgt. George Louth said yesterday.

Louth said the dead man’s co-workers contacted Shannon Lakes Apartments Monday after being concerned about his absences from work. Police were called after an apartment maintenance worker opened the apartment and found the body, Louth said. He said the body showed multiple trauma from two or three gunshots wounds and that the death carried strong indications of a homicide. The man had been dead for several days, Louth said.

Louth said investigators identified the suspect within 12 hours of the discovery. The suspect is currently in custody and has been charged in connection with the homicide. The suspect had an unspecified connection with the murdered man, Louth added.

The investigation into the murder is ongoing, Louth said.

This is just an advertisement for self-defense and a gun in every room of your home. Cops have a gun in every room of their homes, that's good enough for me. I need to start loading up.
