It is a pretty sad situation when the pizza dude can not make a delivery without getting robbed. And that is exactly what happened Feb. 23 after a pizza was delivered to a Carlton Road address in Palmetto.

Det. John Cooper said police are seeking two black males in connection to the robbery. Cooper said the two men approached the driver after he had delivered the pizza at 9:30 p.m. and was returning to his vehicle.

“They ran up and hit him in the face. Then they took his money and ran off,” Cooper said.

Cooper said one of the men was described as being approximately 5’10-11” in height while the other was approximately 5’5-6” tall. Both were dressed completely in black and wearing hoods. Cooper said the men were last seen running south on Carlton Road.

Anyone with information pertaining to the robbery is asked to contact Det. John Cooper at Palmetto Police at (770) 463-9068. The contact can be anonymous, Cooper said.

Pizza delivery has not been the only type of work that has fallen prey to thefts and violence in recent months. A Comcast Cable technician was the victim of an armed robbery at Genesis Gardens Apartments in mid-October while making a service call.
