The McIntosh Chiefs boys basketball team has qualified for the state tournament for the first time in the school’s history. The Chiefs beat the Creekside Seminoles 54-47 on Wednesday night, less than two weeks removed from a 58 point loss to Creekside. Coach Jason Eisele credited Robert Chubb (55) with playing a huge game on defense in the win. McIntosh will now take on their longtime rivals, the Fayette County Tigers, today at 5:30 p.m., for a trip to the region championship game.
