What Mayor Logsdon wants you to forget about the westside annexation

Three reasons to drastically reduce the westside annexation density. Mayor Logsdon is hoping you'll forget about the facts. It's like TDK, he wants the developers to win.

1. The city's engineering studies show that two "access points" are needed and we will only have one thanks to the new CSX parking lot next to Centennial.

From The Citizen:
"The city’s traffic consulting firm has determined that the city will need to service the west village area with two access points to Ga. Highway 74. One of those will be built if the City Council approves a 379-acre annexation proposed by John Wieland Homes: an at-grade railroad crossing near the southern intersection of Kedron Drive, which will include a traffic signal at the intersection."

2. More senior housing equals higher taxes to upgrade ems/fire services according to Mayor Logsdon.

From The Citizen:
"Logsdon acknowledged, however, that seniors [housing in the Westside annexation proposal] are likely to have an impact on the city’s emergency medical services. 'It is a major impact on our EMS,' Logsdon said."

3. Where are all the new kids going to school?

From The Citizen:
Unfortunately, there's no quote on this one because the mayor doesn't care about our schools.

That is where West Village is currently districted to go. Booth and Mcintosh we are told are overcrowded. Therefore it would be impossible for the FCBOE to change their districting from Flat Rock and Sandy Creek to Booth and Mcintosh without looking like fools. Right!

I should have been clearer I meant the current Wieland/Levitt land up for annexation is districted to Flat Rock and Sandy Creek and not Centennial.

Maybe you didn't grasp the concept of Levitt's age 55 and above community, but the idea is that most people that age don't have shool-age kids. Same for Wieland's town homes. For the few kids that will live in Wieland's houses - send them to Sandy Creek. All the more reason to get McDuff completed to 74 so the buses can get them to Tyrone for school in the morning.

No one can dodge an issue like RobeMudcat W. Morgan can. Not only does he come off as ignorant, but he’s insensitive as well. You can't learn that, you're born with it.

We're all going to be paying for the rise in EMS calls to the 55-plus Levitinites. RobeMudcat W. Morgan, a Harold Logsdon Republican, says "raise those taxes!"

There are no townhomes in the Wieland plan, but there are 500 single family homes. The cloned (they accidentally removed the intelligent gene from the sequence) development cat, RobeMudcat W. Morgan, has forgotten Sandy Creek will be over capacity once the new the Wieland subdivision goes on line in Tyrone. But it’s the elementary and middle schools that will get crunched anyway.

Don’t forget, RobeMudcat W. Morgan doesn’t care. He’s part of the Direct PAC breed. Raise your taxes and pitch the trailers behind the schools as long as the PAC boys rake in the cash.
