I don’t know what happened to McAllister’s, the soups were pretty good. The Atlanta Bread Company is still open, someone had inquired if it was. Mike & C’s is my favorite spot for breakfast on Saturday’s; not too many choices for breakfast around here.

We need another good barbeque joint; the old Du-Roc building remains empty, Loco’s remains closed although I thought the food there was terrible, it would be nice if someone else would come in. Why don’t we see a Red Lobster or Up the Creek in this county?

Peachtree City wouldn't let Red Lobster put up the sign they wanted to.

Does anyone know what happened? Why they closed? Also, does anyone know any news about Valentino's? They were suppose to open in Newnan,on 34, in the former Johnny Carino's bldg. No action going on there.

We could all go to Oinks, Oxnix, Omits, Ah what the heck, Wendy's for all!

We have a very proper, erudite blog here where intelligent people can gather together and discuss the issues of the day in a calm rational manner...

....and then, sadly, some "bomb thrower" like Tug13 comes along and sets off World War 3 with incendiary and patently false statements like "the best sweet tea in Fayette county is served at Mike & C's". Tsk.

Discriminating connoiseurs with trained palettes (of which I am not one) know that the best sweet tea in Fayette county can be found at Waffle House.

I recognize that preference in sweet tea is an intensely personal choice, and hope we can have a calm, rational discussion with open minds and a relative paucity of preconceived notions.

Respectfully,
Basmati

Recipe:
Get a big barrell---the bigger the better.
Dump in ten gallons of tap water
Dump in two small tea bags (cheapest possible)
Dump in five pounds of sugar (the brown stuff)
Swoosh it around a little
Taste it with a ladle
Add five more pounds of brown sugar
swoosh again (rinse ladle)
taste again (rinse ladle)
add five more pounds of sugar. Allow to come to room temperature (100)
Serve in big paper cups. Have sugar shock treatments available.
Treat any Englismen standing around for disbelief.
