A bridge construction project just north of Fayetteville will shut down to one northbound lane Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The southbound lanes on Ga. Highway 85 at the Morning Creek bridge will not be affected. But one of the northbound lanes to the new bridge will remain closed for the designated period so crews can fork on resurfacing.

Motorists are asked to use extreme caution when traveling through the work zone. Barrels, cones, barricades and signs will be used to alert and direct motorists through the area.

The DOT and C W Matthews are to be commended for keeping the traffic interruptions to a minimum during this bridge construction / rehab project. I'm very impressed as to how well this has gone. Good job guys.
