Traffic stop leads to drugs in F’ville homeTue, 01/23/2007 - 4:36pm

A traffic stop on a vehicle with a wanted suspect netted a significant drug confiscation for Fayetteville Police Saturday morning, police said. Police arrested the suspect on felony drug distribution charges and arrested several others on related weapons violations, according to police reports. Officers seized 10 grams of cocaine, $5,000 in cash and a gun that were found in the Ford F-350 truck, and they found another 8.2 ounces of cocaine and $4,200 in cash in the house at 260 Creekwood Trail where all the suspects reportedly lived, police said. The officer pulled over the truck after spotting Robert Earl Davies get in the truck moments earlier, police said. The officer knew Davies was wanted in Paulding County for failure to appear in court, police said. Davies, 45, was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. The others in the car, Errol James Jarrett, 43, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and improper tag display; Jamare Joseph Jarrett, 17, and Chad Domonick Johnson, 17, were charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Police may attempt to seize the truck and the trailer it was pulling, but that decision has not yet been made, police said. login to post comments |
