A 16-year old juvenile has been charged with aggravated assault after an incident Monday on Peachtree City’s cart paths.

Police said the victim of the assault said he and a friend were walking on a cart path near the intersection of Flat Creek Road and Riley Parkway when a group of teens on a golf cart passed by them.

According to the victim, passengers on the golf cart made derogatory statements. After the statements were made, a 16-year old juvenile exited the golf cart and approached the victim, police said.

The juvenile then attempted to strike the victim with a skateboard and continued his aggression by making threatening remarks and holding a knife to the victim’s chest, according to officials.

After starting an investigation and speaking to several witnesses, the juvenile was identified and charged with aggravated assault Wednesday. A juvenile complaint form has been forwarded to the Fayette County Juvenile Court System for disposition.

If anyone has information that would assist the police department in these or other incidents, contact the Peachtree City Criminal Investigations Division at 770-631-2510 or the Crime and Narcotics Hotline at 770-487-6010. Callers may remain anonymous.

Send the brat to Clayton or DeKalb County where he will feel at home with the other thughs. Publish his name and his parents' names to embarras (?) them. Most probably rich people (and stupid, too.)

Clayton County's children and teens are not anymore "thugs" (as you put it) than any other county and that includes Fayette. I would not be so smug as I have read about more crimes by teens (golf cart crimes) and adults (sex crimes) in the Peachtree City area lately than anywhere else and I look at all county papers every day. Clayton County is full of good kids.

you cant be serious.
Clayton Homicides Double in 2006

Now I know those are not all committed by teens, but it is certainly coming from a younger crowd.

It scares the bejeezus out of me that this cesspool is only 6 miles away from my beloved hometown.

Yeah. I would be scared too if I lived in PTC cesspool with all the golf path crimes and internet predators being caught by undercover police there. Sounds like you and others are racists pointing out Dekalb and Clayton...I wouldn't be so quick to cast a stone if I were you. There are very nice, intelligent, hard working teens and kids and adults in Clayton & Dekalb. There are criminals and strayed teens in every county, even Fayette. Murders in PTC lately also. Be careful out there.

Can you imagine being jacked up by a kid in a golf cart?

How stupid does a kid have to be?

If he pulls that crap on me he will be "saying hello to my little friend". And he better have a speed chip in it.

Only in PTC.

Knife boy better be glad he didn't pull that stuff with an adult that was armed!

It is going to take a few toe tags to convince these poor little rich kids that life is tough, it's tougher if you are stupid.

Minimum, 90 days at a boot camp! Do not finish the school year, do not pass go and collect $200.

Sorry Major but our District Attorney will say that the poor misunderstood child needs tough love and a trip to Disney.

They need to lock his parents up with him. I wish we could publish their names in the paper to publically embarrass them. The parents I mean, the kids would see their names in the paper, and it would be a reward for them.

Major! How dare you. The poor kid just had the knife to help stabilize the suspension in the back of the golf cart. (Hey, it worked for Kittrell.) This is all just a big misunderstanding.

I sure hope Judge Tommy Hankinson doesn't get a hold of this. He might make the kid color an "I'm Sorry" card and send him to be with no baked Alaska!

I didn't see one word printed that said what verbal things were spoken by the walkers. Did they yell something? Did they stay in the road? Did they use a bad word?
I take it they said nothing, then?
Do the police have the knife? Did more than one say they had a knife? This sounds like the three diffferent tales I have heard today on TV about what the administration is saying about Iraq.

This happens just about everyday here, the only difference is most of the time the brats never get caught. People walking on the paths don't do anything to provoke a violent attack. They are guilty of being in the thug kids way.

Typical PTC. Nothing screams we are high class people like having a kid with a rap sheet. Let me guess,.....he's an honor student?.....he's never been in trouble before?.......he's a good christian boy, who goes to church? Yea riiigggght.
NOT!

Good job to the cops and the witnesses. Let's hope that crimelover hankinson doesn't get a hold of this one.

Get a license to carry people, a knife is a lethal weapon, and you do have a right to protect yourself when your life is threatened.

Unless the criminal confesses and we see the confession and can prove it is not a doctored tape, we should not jump to conclusions. Personally, I think Dick Cheney planted the knife on the kid and had a decoy ask him for directions. When he stopped - kazaam! Busted.

I stand corrected.

The kid may have called him a "poo-poo head" in which case stopping, getting out of the golf cart, approaching the kid, and holding a knife to his chest while you threaten his life would have been entirely appropriate. It is probably something cooked up by Condi Rice (no pun intended).

I stand corrected.
