Tell officials to stop overbuilding in Fayette

The proposed development of West Village and its 1,239 homes, the probable annexation of unincorporated land into Peachtree City, the possible lifting of the moratorium on apartment building in PTC and the future development of over 2,000 acres on Ga. Highway 54 is spelling doom for Fayette County residents.

Thanks to GRTA and the ARC and the current leadership in the county and cities and towns, Fayette County citizens will be experiencing similar wild growth that most people moved here to avoid.

Instead of two-acre minimum lot sizes, the Fayette County residents will be experiencing half-acre lots and apartments, four-laned Sandy Creek and Tyrone-Palmetto roads, crowded schools, lack of sanitary sewerage, unprotected creeks and water supplies, high taxes and an ever-increasing traffic load on Georgia Highway 74.

If development and overbuilding is the reason people live in Fayette County, so be it. If you’d like to see another Memorial Drive as in DeKalb County or Pleasant Hill and its surroundings in Gwinnett County, so be it.

If not, now is the time to please let your local and state elected officials know that you expect better treatment than this. Get involved and let your voice be heard.

Vote Republican? It's the one party power system that is allowing this to happen! Vote for ethical representatives who listen to and act upon your wishes for a county environment that we all moved here to support! Ignore the labels - and vote for the integrity of the person!

I couldn't have said it better myself.
