REMINDER: FCHS BAND IN ROSE PARADE TODAY!

Newsboy's picture

The Marching Tigers are one of about 20 bands participating in the spectacle, which airs live starting at 11 a.m. on ABC, NBC, HGTV, Tribune, Univision, Telemundo, Travel Channel, Discovery HD Theater and Sky Link TV.

Because there's no telling where the FCHS Band will be in the lineup, you'll probably want to set the VCR or Tivo.

FYI ...

The parade stretches for 5.5 miles and lasts nearly 3 hours from start to finish. George Lucas of "Star Wars" fame is the honorary parade Grand Msrshall this year!

No doubt, this is the biggest recognition and exposure the FCHS band has ever received snd I'm sure they'll do the community proud as they represent Fayette County before an estimated American TV audiece of more than 40 million, with millions more watching around the world (1 million folks line the parade route alone!)

Today's parade marks the culmination of a busy week for the band, which arrived in California last Wednesday. They'll fly back home to Atlanta tomorrow, and here's wishing them a safe and restful journey home!

GO TIGERS!

My grandson and I (he attends FCHS) watched the parade on HGTV.
We didn't see the band, but I bet they did great!
Go Tigers! Smiling

I never saw them! I watched HGTV (no commercials) and I must have missed them.....where were they?

I miss my old stomping grounds...nothing like Southern California!

I'm pretty sure that I saw them, but the announcer (Bob Eubank's co-host) on the Discovery HD channel really mispronounced their name saying something like "Fiette" County band.

That was what one of the parent coordinators for the band told me a couple of weeks ago - not sure if that info changed as they lined up for the Big Show this morning or not . . . I didn't watch it.
