THE PEACH -The Sounds of Faith

I was clearly shaken by the fact that the station just disappeared without notice. I have listed to PEACH since 1981. Every Sunday morning, I turned on The Sounds of Faith as soon as I woke up. It was one of the highlights of my week. Isn't there something we can do to reinstate this wonderful worship series? Or is there any chance to get copies of the worship hours?

Anyway, I'm so disappointed, and love the idea of bringing it back, as it was originally intended with instrumentals, and worship.
Thanks for listening.

I am at a loss for words to describe my disappointment and anger over recent programing changes at Atlanta's beloved 94.9 PEACH FM radio station. Most especially troubling is the decision to no longer broadcast my favorite program, "Sounds of Faith" every Sunday morning from 6AM to noon. It was refreshing to wake up to the great inspirational music and scripture reading every Sunday morning. I kept radios tuned throughout the house to PEACH 94.9 as I readied for church and I continued my listening while driving the 25 minute commute to church.

Why no warning? I suspect there are thousands just like me who quietly anticipated the inspiration music each week and received strength and comfort from this program, a 30 year tradition in Atlanta according to it's announcements. December, 2006 will prove to be a sad milestone in the Atlanta radio listening market having lost such an inspiring program. I'm already fumbling across the FM and AM dials trying to find a substitute knowing that my days of listening to PEACH are over.

I'm thankful that I recorded many, many hours of Sounds of Faith programing several years ago that I still have on cassette tape for my own enjoyment. I suppose it's time to pull them out, dust them off and try to get over the hurt of such poor judgment on the part of the new owners, all in the name of profit.

Perhaps a wise radio station owner will see the benefit of picking up this weekly broadcast and, in so doing, reap the benefit of many new loyal listeners throughout the week.

The Kimmer is gone.... that's even worse!

It was shut down because the owners couldn't sell enough ads to keep it on the air. They couldn't sell enough ads because not enough people were listening.
If you want something like this to stay on the air, then send them some money to support it, or have your church support it.
Another problem is, in my opinion, is the theory that such a program is "The sounds of faith." Faith makes no sound.
