Chiefs take second at Falcon Dulas

The McIntosh Wrestlers traveled to Cobb County on Saturday to compete in the Falcon Duals Tournament held at Pebblebrook High School and came home with a second place Trophy. The Chiefs won their matches against Hill Grove 63-15, Pebblebrook 60-24 and Douglas County 63-18. McIntosh lost in the championship match to Lovett 30-47.

Juniors Erik Willanzheimer at 189 lbs and Matt Carroll at 215 along with Freshmen Matt Lein 112 and Sean Carney led the Chiefs with perfect 4-0 records in the tournament. Willanzheimer and Carroll each had three victories by pin, Carney had two and Lein had one.
Jarrod Chamblee at 119 Jim Murrell 130 and Carol Scheumann at 140 each had three wins against one loss.

“Coming off of a very tough South Metro Tournament last weekend I am happy to see our team maintain its competitiveness,” said Coach Nick Bellantoni. “I think we have the ability to become a very competitive team.”

The Chiefs’ varsity team is back in action today in the Centennial Duals.

Thanks for the info and the update and watch that dyslexia! Keep the wrestling coverage coming - those guys don't get enough credit!
