It's been awhile since I last visited you guys, so I just wanted to say Happy Holidays to all, and since you love entertainment, maybe you'd like this little Christmas video we posted on our blog....

That was aweful. Hard to watch. Commit a "random act of kindness", it's the only way to celebrate this holiday, or any day.

Wow. Very disturbing. I agree with some of the message, especially the over-indulgance of Americans and our need for more, more, more. However, instead of making it a "down with the US" video, why not incorporate all the evils of the world? You know, the groups that behead innocent people on camera and then send it out over the internet, the people that buy and sell children, the people that set off bombs in public places, or crash airplanes into buildings? It's not just Christians from the US. There is evil everywhere. Overall, I liked the video (disturbing as it is) because it made me think. When one becomes complacent, one needs a jolt such as your video to snap out of it.

Like Wildcat said, the video is very disturbing, and it does point out some valid criticisms of how we tend to use Christmas to justify our excess consumption. However, all it does is throw spears, mostly at the USA. Even though most of the spears hit their targets, it is almost totally negative in its message. Instead of pointing out all the evil in the US or in the world, why not point out something more positive--a better example that we could all follow. Of course, the life of Jesus comes to mind, but also more recent examples. There are many Mother Theresas in the world, many good-deed doers. It's too easy to throw spears. Instead, focus on something positive to aim for.

Well, this is interesting...why does it seem that when I express an opinion, I get a plethora of negative backlash targeted directly at ME? Not at the issues, not anything supported with facts, just "idontknow is a _______". Yes, kids, it's humor, but is it funny, or just plain sad?

Can we get a bunch of folks that can support their arguments with facts? Not "he's lying", but actual, substantiated, statistically-based facts?

Instead of ignoring the posts out there where I and others like me express opinions, they take the time to craft such witty and fantastic responses like "idontknow has a conscience" and "idontknow has a pea brain".

Wow - is that the best you've got, kids?

Let's see if I can bring back an old rival:

Harold Logsdon and the current council are doing a good job in office, given the mess they inherited. Steve Brown is once again misrepresenting the facts and using flowerly adjectives to attempt to assuage his reported slander. Go read his letter to the editor....mean old Harold was banging the gavel mercilessly while erstwhile Steve-o was "politely" pointing out that Doug Warner is the "don of the developer scandal" and is obviously worthy of extradition to the land of perceived malfeasance. Guess what - when you start making a personal attack that is not a part of the issue in a council meeting, you can stop talking.

Oh my, what active imaginations you folks have! I don't know how anything ever got built before you guys got here to save us all!

Did anybody notice that the City is appealing the GRTA decision because they don't like the traffic that is coming without any money to help pay for new roads? No, let's just gloss over that.

Believe it or not, folks, the council lives in PTC, and they actually are there to listen and THINK about the issues.

But you'll have your opinions, and I'll have mine, and that's the beauty of it all. Right or wrong, we're all allowed to say what we feel. And Cal rings that cash register on every clickthrough.

Go over to www.fayettespeaks.com; they're lonely over there. I hear there's an arcade Smiling

Happy Christmas, folks. If it weren't for you guys, Spear Road Guy would think I'm beating my kids.

And it's fun.

Can we get a bunch of folks that can support their arguments with facts? Not "he's lying", but actual, substantiated, statistically-based facts?

Actually you silly dude the facts have been substantiated many times over. If you're not smart enough to sort out the truth and see past your sins then you deserve that wrath that descends upon you. Repeating the truth over and over and over with someone repeating the lies over and over and over gets old after a while.

Just admit that you're a corrupt lying crook and move on. Your side seems to be winning. Or are you afraid the little people are going to rise up and come after your sorry carcass?

Gosh....I love this place. We ought to rename it Free Shots.

I guess not...WAH. Oh well, time will tell, like the last election. Most people think things are just fine.

Yup....I saw him on the Citizen. It's kind of like why bother arguing with the clown. How can you argue with someone who doesn't know the difference between right or wrong. Kind of like negotiating with Hamas.

YOU didn't say that on www.fayettespeaks.com, did you?

Shameless plug for www.fayettespeaks.com - really, go over there - it don't got no ads like Cal's site!

Then why are you searching so hard for ANYONE who might agree with you? Which council member are you anyways? Heck you remind me of Janet Dunn blindly defending her hubby.

Submitted by idontknow on Tue, 12/19/2006 - 7:48pm.

...you guys just BLAST folks every chance you get...will you EVER let a situation play out without putting in your two cents.

There are plenty who think that things are alright now. It comes back to the curmudgeons, and as I can attest, by putting your opinion out on this website, people pay attention. The question is - how many?

If there are any lurkers out there who think Logsdon and company are doing alright, please let your voices be heard. How about some variety from the broken record of unsubstantiated "corrupt" this and "illegal" thats!

Submitted by Swartzerized on Tue, 12/19/2006 - 8:13pm.

Hey idontknow, how about dumb and dumber? Seriously, I think we are all lucky that Mayor Logsdon hasn't sold the city back to the Chief McIntosh for thirty pieces of silver and a bottle of beer. But give credit where credit is due. I like Judy, Stuart and Cindi (she rocks). The red faced guy without any opinion other than the Mayor's, I can do without.

Idontknowmuch is making a desperate plea for support. Quick call out the developers. Call out Mitch Seabaugh. Logsdon....HELP! Jim Pace...git out here. Don't bother with Lynn though.....He's too busy doing nothing.

Does that mean they DON'T want the TDK extension? Or that they want it wider so even more cars can come through, but not have to pay for it all? Please be clear.
As to the good job done for the average citizen by this administration, so far I see our taxes eventually having to pay about five million more dollars for tennis centers, TDK extensions, 20% more cops and firefighters, more for the mayor's salary and others, I'm sure a new sewer system soon, and the annexation of all of the land adjoining PTC now. Are there any more retired military army majors and LTCs available to hire? Try some Navy Commanders and Captains next time.

...we get to charge impact fees on development and they GIVE us money!

Basically, if these other developments are going to get built (call me next time you drive by Twin Lakes on Rockaway Road), Peachtree City is being told by GRTA to "build more roads, but figure out how to fund them on your own, that's not our concern. Now get to it!"

Peachtree City is saying, um...no, not without more money and maybe some realistic planning?

Hey - if Peachtree City didn't own the land for TDK, who's to say that they private developers couldn't build the road on their own? Has anybody considered THAT one?

"we get to charge impact fees on development and they GIVE us money!"
You not only don't know, you really have no clue. Impact fees don't cover squat.
