A Special Person

Allow me to use this forum to thank a good samaritan who was at the the Walmart in PTC tonight. I came out of the store with a full buggy and inadvertantly left the XBox360 I had just purchased for Christmas for my kids($399.00) in the bottom of the shopping cart. (I know, I deserved to lose it.) When I got home I realized what I had done and called the store. I was frantic, knowing I couldn't afford another one right now. I found out a "true" gentleman had found it and brought it to the manager of the store and turned it in. If you read this and are the man who found it please email me at grateful_fayette_mom@yahoo.com so my children and I can thank you personally. I believe your initials are MB. I hope everyone who reads this will remember this season, when you're out shopping and very busy, look under your buggy! I was blessed tonight!

This is indeed a refreshing story.

The only sad thing is that we all think such honesty and chivalry unusual and a bit surprising. Don't you EXPECT that when such good fortune falls into someone's hands--and no one is looking--they'll look out for their own personal gain?

Thing is, the way this gentleman did things is the way things ought always to be.

And have you already spoiled the surprise for the kids? Sounds that way. Smiling

I had my 2 younger children with me at the time (preteens) and the gift is for my oldest child, so I didn't spoil the surprise. This has been a hands on learning experience for the younger kids about honesty, truthfulness and being thankful. I hope they remember this. You never know how your act of kindness can change the outcome of someone's life.

Yes, this man's honesty goes well beyond the nice consequence that you had your merchandise restored to you. If (some of) your kids were in on it, then his example--and your grateful reaction--cannot but help to instill within your kids an appreciation for such good character. They will likely be better people for it.

So refreshing to hear about your "good samaritan"...I had a similar experience (not as much $$ in my merchandise)..but a lovely lady came running up to me at Target in McDonough to tell me I had left everything on the bottom of my shopping cart. Just got busy and didn't even check. That is the true Christmas Spirit. Let's all try and watch out for each other during this wonderful season and pass along a little kindness.
Merry Christmas

Nice to know there are still decent folks out there. You got lucky (I know you know that.) Thanks for sharing the story, though!
