The 2007 Tour de Georgia will start on April 16 and Peachtree City will be where this year's tour begins. A route has yet to be announced but 15 world class teams with 120 cyclists will be in town on that Monday, shooting for a chance to wear the yellow jersey.

It was also announced this morning that an extra day of racing has been awarded to the Tour de Georgia by the UCI (the international cycling union) and this year's race will end at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta.

More details will follow over the coming weeks and months as teams commit to the race and the finalized route is announced.

This race should start somewhere PTC East which has been ignored by everyone for so many years. Maybe at McIntosh high,Buckhead Brewery or Fudruckers!

It is a good time to shine.
I hope we do better than F'ville and provide recycle containers for litter.

This past start in F'ville made me realize how out of shape the F'ville city PD & county cops were. The Fire Dept guys are made to work out and the PTC offices may be in shape because they are young. Maybe the Chief has them working out too.

It was a good time and I look forward to seeing it happen.
